WDW Attractions That Need To Be Retired

As far as attractions that need to be demolished not redone...

MK:
Tomorrowland Speedway
Stitch's Great Escape
Aladdin's Magic Carpets (to be fair, it's really not hurting anything, couldn't really fit another attraction there, maybe a new Bazaar area?)

EPCOT:
Mission: Space (Won't happen soon but man, the ride seems like a ghost town half of the time)
Universe of Energy
Captain EO

(Journey into Imagination ideally can be redone not necessarily changed into something completely un-Figment)

DHS:
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Art of Animation
Disney Junior Live on Stage
(So basically that whole area)
Lights Motors Action

AK:
Rafiki's Planet Watch
The Whole of Dinoland (minus Dinosaur!)

You know who else would like to retire Indy...?

Charming enough, for a BAD GUY.

Anyway, I'm not saying that if Indy gets removed it will start off a chain reaction that causes the Nazis to retroactively win World War II, thus depositing us in a nightmarish, dystopian alternate reality, but, on the other hand, we don't know that that WON'T happen.

Buzz Lightyear. It was special in 1998, but now the same kind of ride is more commonplace and Midway Mania is much more fun. The space is better suited to some other dark ride that fits Tomorrowland theme.

Magic Carpets. Does nothing for Adventureland and the movie deserves better than this.

Something better could be done with the northern half of Storybook Circus beyond retail, meet & greets and a place to charge your iphone.

The speedway could be remade into something TRON-ish or even Sugar Rush from Wreck-it Ralph.
DHS is being gutted, so it'll be interesting to see what they do there.
Somewhat OT but relevant, they should've put the Snuggly Duckling in MK. Disney blew it when it came to that. Talk about a character meal and then some. Thugs and Ruffians serving you/providing entertainment, but no... it's a bathroom.

Tomorrowland Speedway, Stitch's Great Escape, Soarin', Captain EO, Journey Into Imagination
We should differentiate between retired and updated. To say Soarin' needs to be retired all together is just unrealistic. It's not ever going to be retired so long as its popularity remains this high. I agree it needs a good cleaning, reprogram, new movie, and new A/V equipment, but completely retired?

this x100. When having this conversation you need to look past any personal opinion or resentment and look at a somewhat even keel. with that said some rides although far from perfect serve a purpose and are still enjoyed. (nemo and friends or stich) for example. others are very popular but COULD free up space for even more. (tommorowland speedway) than there's those handful of rides so outdated and unpopular that realistically shouldn't be around anymore (energy adventure and EO) with that prelude out of the way.

tommorowland speedway needs to be removed and i would create a new tommorow land facade that matches well with the rest of the land room for a new shop or two (direct ROI) and a nice dark ride tucked in with the entrance being through the facade. also use this time to create LOS barriers for FL tent/staging maybe?

COP needs a major overhaul the only reason its still around (lets be honest) is because nobody wants to be the guy to sign that off. (and of-course budgets) i think the concept is still very cool but the scenes need a total refresh effect wise even if you keep the same time periods bring some modern FX to it (more flash and pizzaz) removal wont gain you much to do something else with.

Ellen energy adventure really is beyond repair in my opinion to bring the attraction up to modern snuff would cost a boatload of cash the only alternate route is just a long clean refurb whilst retaining the classic ride and i don't think the modern guest gives two hoots. so tear it down possible re-purpose structure for a new energy based ride of some kind.

I agree CoP and UoE need significant updates. Tomorrowland speedway stinks, takes up too much space, and is somewhat pointless other than kids like driving. They could probably fit 3 brand new attractions in that space and they could use all 3 in MK.

I would like CoP to be kept 100% original, perhaps with a few updates to the final scene, but not crazy. It has to keep the same family, same audio, same theme song, and essentially the same dialogue. What it really needs is an audio equipment overhaul. The speakers need replacing, the track needs to be cleaned up for better clarity, and the entire seating area needs replacement.

As far as UoE, I'd love to maintain the concept and energy theme, even utilizing the same ride system. That building is HUGE and has so much potential. They can remove some of the movie heavy concepts or at least make them more interesting to tell a better story about energy. I still like the dinosaurs and with some updates, that part can remain intact.

Alas, all this costs money.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage - don't throw any objects at me for mentioning this. Rule of thumb is Broadway shows only play for a certain amount of years before taking a break despite how popular it it. The same things to happen to Beauty and the Beast as a result and replace with another movie as a show.
Captain EO
Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
Tomorrowland Speedway
LMA
