Maybe we'll see price decreases!!! the completion of Pop century resort!!!! a new country in Epcot!!! some monrail expansion!!!! :lookaroun
Whether its execution is the cause of the attendance increases remains to be seen...haven't the overall attendance figures been increasing the last couple of years anyway? This seems to be part of the trend. Where I think the campaign will have an impact is in bringing people back to the parks.
100% agreed, Capitalism is fantastic!! Disney is doing it all perfect. Now that smoking is banned at the resorts MORE will come too. Ah, Clean air and Disney..GOTTA LOVE IT!!This is all good new. More poeple visiting and spending money is great. Usually Disney makes more attractions when they are doing good in attendance.:sohappy:
NOT a chance, It doesnt work that way. If attendance was DOWN and less folks were coming then yes i could see a decrease. With the economy rolling along and folks having money to spend "as the proof in the numbers show" Disney wont be lowering costs anytime soon. Congrats Disney!! Job well done!!:animwink:It's good to hear the parks are doing good, and I am pretty sure the reason US and IOA are doing better is because of this.

OK maybe not, here's to wishing at wishes at least.

I believe you are right. funny thing is...We have NEVER done the free dining thing... We usually just buy the tickets book the resort and go!! We go in May or Sept. Someday ill have to look into the dining option.Yeah, didn't they have TWO price increases in 2006? Jan and Aug? Not seeing that go down.
Funny - record attendance, record week (Easter) and still free dining to help Aug and Sept. All about choices in time to visit.
Sounds Dangerous should count for -1
Well, I sometimes wonder if I am the only one who thinks that alot of the attendance gains the past couple of years has more to do with the Magic Your Way tickets, Disneys Magical Express that are keeping people on property there entire vacations or longer than they used too. And the free dining plan and other pkg specials that they have been offering in the off season plus the increased push that has happened in the last 1 1/2 with getting locals to get APs. Than the marketing campaigns.
F&W does draw alot of people you wouldn't think of as Disneyphiles into the park, especially with the Epcot after 4pm annual pass. I spoke to alot of guests with that pass last year.
Speaking of special events, has anyone else heard about Flower & Garden being an almost complete and total bust? I've heard rumors about entire plots of flowers needed to be dug up and replanted, and also a rumor that it hasn't drawn any extra guests, like guests there just for F&G, just regular guests who were visiting Epcot because it's the third day of our trip, time for Epcot.
CTXRover;2239450 HKDL was really the only downside of the report as the park continues to struggle. I still have hope for this park and resort said:I'm not trying to sound negative but I don't have much hope in HKDL. It does as previously mentioned need some WOW to it but I personaly after having lived in Europe believe it is more of a culture issue.
yep, they try not to be excited so they won't be delayed, let me guess blue men group or the simpsons ride might be delayed because they brag it into disney's face:shrug: however disney works better at new attractionsThis is all good new. Gee, with record profit Disney is making with their parks, maybe management will consider paying their front line employees and extra couple bucks an hour. ya think?? LLL!!!

Actually, I think Disney's business model probably indicates that by keeping wages on the low side, that it helps their long term sustainability. Just a guess though. With the minimum wage going up over the next few years they are going to have to pay them more and I am sure that will be passed on to the consumer in price increases. The funny thing is, if they payed the cast members more they might be able to get a higher quality cast member and ones that may stay there longer. But that would be long term thinking and we all know corporations today don't think in the long term.
