Right. Now then... Script is now live and we have no confirmation either way of a major refurb this coming summer.

Yes?

There won't be a major refurb in the summer. Possibility of a refurb, but more SM than HM in magnitude.

Hmm. Paint a green stripe, enclose the queue so that its light doesn't leak into the jungle, add video games into the queue, make the river just a bit smoother (but not a full river replacement), and add a couple of parts from Horizons to the area where you get out of the boat.

Did I miss anything? Oh, and a planter.

Take out Schwitzer Falls and paint the rock purple.:lookaroun

But don't add a new sound system to the boats. That would call for new boats which would ruin the whole experience. :lookaroun

Could I maybe do this :lookaroun one more time?

So, conflicting reports as to whether we will be getting a "SM" style or "HM" style refurb of JC.

Personally, I think this may be the result of confusion when comparing the HM and SM refurbs, mainly because those 2 are such different kinds of attractions, and the parameters of what was possible for their refurbs varied greatly in scale between each attraction.

To explain, for SM to have received "HM" treatment, it basically would have to have been rebuilt. There is no plussing of scenes possible on the ride itself. But on the flipside, if SM would have been rebuilt, it would have far eclipsed the scale of the HM refurb. So in a sense, an HM style refurb of SM was not really possible, if you're looking at it from a cost/extent viewpoint.

So in relation to JC, if we say it is going to be getting an "SM" refurb, does that mean that they will be plussing only the queue and exit, and leaving the actual ride pretty much as is? Or does it mean that the scope of the work will be equivalent to SM in duration, cost and manpower only?

I propose, for clarity, that we define a potential "SM" style refurb of JC to refer to a plussing of the queue and load/unload only, along with necessary cleaning and infrastructure done on the ride itself, but with no substantial changes of any kind to the ride itself.

And I further propose that we define an "HM" style refurb of JC to refer to all of the above, with the addition of substantial plussing to the ride itself, including possible new additions to show elements (a la staircase room).

So with that all being said, I would like to know 1) if it will be a SM style as described above, 2) and HM style as described above, or 3) you simply want MousDad to wrap his face up in duct tape.

I had heard, albeit months ago, that it would be HM-esque, just because things were being ADDED to it, along the lines of DL. That's all I know, save for the fact that I have heard nothing negative concerning it for some time.

If it were SM....I guess it would look fresher?:confused: I don't get that.

This is a good question you brought up. I'm very curious as well.

For me, a HM level refurb is deeply delving into show scenes, the queue, the vehicles, the preshow, ride system - basically everything. The SM level refurb is a look at the ride system, queue, the exterior, and some very minor show changes.

HM didn't get vehicle or ride system work, did it?

Bolded what I heard (though, months ago, I expect you have up to date info) would be coming.

BTW....I wish SM's exterior had REALLY been tackled. Looking at you, lighting and painting.

I agree, but I'm not sure how much WDW could do to refurb the Jungle Cruise ride to the extent of a Haunted Mansion....
