Disney announce that they will premiere a surprise WDAS short at the Annecy Film Festival in June 11th. I hope it's a hand drawn Mickey Mouse short or a House of Mouse style crossover short as part of Disney's 100 Years of Wonder. What do you think?

That's possible, except I think the Tiana series is in the works right now.

I doubt they'd cancel it, but after all the political controversy I think Disney at this point would probably be more likely to quietly drop it on Disney Plus during Pride month instead of putting it in one of their biggest animated features.

That was for Pixar not WDAS, and I hadn't heard it being cancelled.

Thanks for the clarification, but Pixar hasn’t done any Sparkshorts since 2021, and because of the lay offs, I doubt that the transgender short survived.

Just to be clear it wasn’t a short it was a full length movie, and again it hadn’t been cancelled as far as I’m aware but who knows.

I don't have any tea just what was posted out on the interwebs. Now the assumption has been full-length movie, but I suppose it could have been changed to a short or was always a short as the casting listing just called it a project.

Relax, this thread isn't political. You wondered what the short could be, and I threw that out as a possibility due to the casting call from awhile ago. No big deal.

Anyway, I actually wonder if the short might be Oswald the Lucky Rabbit related instead of Mickey, since Oswald was technically the first Disney character. It didn't actually all start with a mouse, despite Walt's famous quote.

There is nothing wrong with this thread, and there is nothing political here my friend. So calm down, we're just having a discussion here.

Also we don't know if that particular Pixar project got cancelled or not, it could have been, or maybe they are still working on it. There has been no word on it since this casting call, so maybe it did. I'm sure we'll find out sometime in the future.

As for the short in June we don't know what it will be, which why this Pixar project got brought up in the first place. Its fine, nothing wrong with discussing this particular Pixar project.

Maybe the short will be something Mickey related. Maybe it'll be a new IP short like Paperman. We just don't know and will have to wait.

Anyways, calm down and just enjoy the discussion.
