Water Park or Not?

Every year we try to do something extra. Last year we added MNSSHP and loved it, the year before we did Universal. Now i am trying to decide on MNSSHP again or add the water parks. We have never been to them yet and i am not sure if we should . We spend all summer in our pool so when we go to Disney in the fall we usually only have a one day swim. Two boys 8, and 11 and i just need some input on the water parks to help decide.

I urge everyone to visit the waterparks if you have not yet done so, I had literally been to the MK-Epcot-MGM-AK parks hundreds of times before visiting TL last year for teh first time. IT WAS INCREDIBLE-I had been to Adventure Island a month before and I WAS BLOWN AWAY by the water parks- they make AI look like a concrete dump. I could float in the lazy river all day.....

I'd also say go for the water parks. If you can only do one, I'd recommend Typhoon Lagoon because a: Slush n Gusher is insane, and b: It seems, to me, to have far more shade, and that can be important when you're walking from slide to slide.

This quote is an important comment. I have not had so much fun on a waterslide in YEARS. We had a blast. We put 3 people on the "Coconut" slide (totalling close to 600 lbs.) and it felt faster than a ride on Space Mountain. We flew. Insane slides indeed. To the OP - get your 2 boys, head to Typhoon Lagoon, get in line for Crush N Gusher, and try not to laugh TOO hard... I dare ya :)

I agree - go to at least one waterpark. We normally go really early (EMH) and stay until 11am or noon and that gives us plenty of time to get everything in before the crowds reach capacity.

I used to love Blizzard Beach (and still do) but on our most recent trip, I really enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon. There seems to be more shade and less stairs (straight up) which is important if you have small kids or don't feel like stair-climbing on your vacation!!
