Water in park

There's no real chemical difference between tap water and bottled water usually, so just ask for water from any Quick Service place. It's free, and it's the same as bottled water.

As everyone has said, they will gladly give you ice water or just ice. We had our refillable mugs with us, and just put the ice in them. It worked fine, but Mom had an ECV basket.;)

It would be nice if WDW replaced their current drinking fountains with these. Makes filling bottles not an awkward experience.

Good luck. I would imagine Disney would love to remove the existing fountains to force you to but bottled.

I just figure that if I am going to spend thousands of dollars on my vacation, I am not about to lug around water all day long to save $2.75. When I get thirsty I buy a bottle of water and move on. When I figure what I have already spent, it's just chump change to me. I budget it before the trip and am able to go to the parks with no back packs, extra cups or anything that doesn't just fit in my pockets. I believe that life simplicity is worth something. I also am not going to go into pay as you go dining places and ask (beg) for free water. Just how I was brought up I guess, right or wrong.

Begging is not required....you just ask for it like any other drink, only they charge you $0.00. ;)

It is not begging at all. They won't come to you offering the water, so you do have to request it. If you want to pay for something I get free, and several times per day, I won't judge you for that.

So when I'm walking down the street and I am asked if I could spare a dollar, that wouldn't be considered begging? Look I'm OK if that is something that you want to do, I just don't. I have always paid my own way in this world and if I can be in a financial position to go to a place like WDW, then I'm hardly needy. So I do not feel right to go to a place where they have to pay for the cup, pay for the machine and it's operation that makes the ice and pay for the water and pay the person that hands me the cup, only to ask them to give me all that because I'm to "frugal" to buy my own, I will then consider myself unable to afford that trip. To each his own. I just expressed how I feel about it, you are free to do whatever you want.

It is Disney who decided the price for a cup of water was zero, so I don't understand why you'd feel bad about it, but as you said, to each his own.

I actually can't stand Dasani bottled water. :hungover: Any other brand and I'd probably buy it just cause it's easier to carry around then a cup. If the Dasani bottled water was free and the cup of ice water was $2.75, I'd probably still take the cup.

Yeah, I would gladly pay for it as well, as I am sure many people would. Say .50 cents or a dollar or so and I am sure people would be happy to pay that for a cup of water to stay hydrated. And that would easily cover the cost of the cup and ice and be preferable to water fountains. So far Disney seems to prefer hydrated customers in the heat and humidity of Central Florida. What are they thinking?

Being a local I guess I am used to the "flavor" of fountain water at WDW. Some fountains are better than others; for instance, the fountain across from the Primeval Whirl at DAK is just about always very cold and flows strongly. We freeze our bottles and continually fill them up with the remaining ice. Flavor packets will disguise any local issues with off flavors. Tip - Drink A LOT of water. Making an extra trip to the restroom is far better than a visit from Reedy Creek EMS for dehydration or just feeling lousy and tired.
I'm not local but I love the "flavor" of the water.

It is obvious why the do it. If something happened due to the fact that someone "couldn't afford" to buy water for themselves there would be no end to the outrage. That doesn't mean that it was intended for every person with a pocket full of money, who can afford it, to get the stuff free. It's just another example of people taking advantage of something that they do that they never intended to be anything other then an assistance to those that needed it. But, people have a tendency to just want what others are getting. That is the same story that threw Fastpass into a tailspin. It was done as a courtesy to those that through no fault of there own missed their window. Before you knew it everyone was making up reasons, then everyone was just doing it with no resistance and then it led to no one getting it. (i.e. Fastpass+)

That's why I feel the way I do, personally, as I said, you aren't going to change my mind, so just go ahead and get your water, that is what is allowed right now. Hopefully, for the sake of those that really need the help, it will continue.

Not interested in trying to change your mind. I just said I would happily pay for it.
