Water Effects

The Alabama/Georgia/Florida water issue would not affect Orlando. It is all about metro Atlanta holding back water in Lake Lanier for drinking water (and the good people of Atlanta to water their yards and wash their cars) and not letting enough water through the dam to keep the Chattahoochee river flowing enough to supply cities, towns, and communities enough water to survive. This is also about ecological damage done to the flora and fauna of Alabama and the Florida panhandle.

I don't know what Metro Georgia your talking about. There was no washing cars or watering lawns during the drought. Also, after the drought it was imited. Want proof... just look at my front lawn. It has never been the same. We were rationing water with some areas only having water available during certain times of the day.Lake Lanier is a major source of drinking water for the Atlanta metro area. Besides, the drought was in 2007 and we have since had a flood.... so I seriously doubt you can point the finger at us. Besides, I would think all that oil that blew all over the gulf had more to do with a failing eco system than little ole Atlanta and our desire to have a drink of water. :animwink:

Pictures of the drought. This is beautiful Sweetwater Park during the drought.

I was talking more about the still ongoing legal battles between the states of Georgia, Alabama and Florida regarding the rights of water usage according to the rules of the Corps of Engineers. But since this is bordering on a political discussion, we should really drop it or you can send me a PM.
