Water cup change??

yet again.. don't listen to people named goof-something

Urine isn't just passing excess water... its how the body expels things. If you aren't pee'ing you aren't in balance.. your body is on its way to toxic shock. You WANT excess water, as it helps move and dillute the kidney's output. Less concentration = GOOD. 8 8oz cups is only 64oz, or less than 2 liters.

All those people sucking down that starbucks coffee are 1/3 of the way there for the day with a single venti cup. Or one big gulp puts you half way there for the day.

We are not talking about water with food... we are talking about people expecting Disney to provide them with refreshment water or whatever you want to call the water you should be drinking during the day NOT with meals.

Some people obviously feel that Disney owes them a large glass of water to replenish what they sweat out during the day. Water without food.

This thread is specifically about cups of water being provided with a quick service meal.

When has it been "specifically" about drinks with a meal? Why would water fountains even come in to play with that? I think the original poster meant it that way, but very quickly, starting on page 1, people were already talking about being provided throughout the day.

When I was at MK today I asked for some water at Cosmic Ray's and this is what I received.

Full disclosure : I'm not in Florida but you know this is next. I'll see what I get when I'm there in November.

They should just start charging $0.25 for water and help cover costs. Keeping it free and cutting you down to a kid cup is far worse.
Hey this is Disney... if they are going to sell water there is no way it will be for $0.25.... Maybe they'll be nice and only charge $2.50 but a quarter ain't gonna happen once they decide to sell water.

I always bring my 2 water bottles and have never asked for free water. But every Disney planning site I've seen over the years includes advice about hydration and advises guests to feel free to walk up to counter service areas and ask for free cups of ice and water. This practice will be hard to change. And besides the water pressure lacking, the fountain water is usually luke warm. I'm sure some bean counter has counted the cost of this free cup giveaway and found a way to alter the practice of using costly bigger sized cups.
I suspect it was a marketing guy that decided to lower the pressure on the water fountains and eliminate any cooling that might have originally existed in the water fountains.

I'm guessing the only reason they give water to anyone in the first place is that if they didn't they would increase the number of guests that pass out from heat exhaustion and that would look bad when guest noticed a line of stretchers going down MainStreet every afternoon in the summer.

This thread is very fascinating. We have managed to go 11 pages (more to come soon I'm sure) over the the merits of the size of the cup of FREE water that people feel they are ENTITLED to.

Here's a solution, bring your own water. Heck bring a couple of bottles with you. No one is stopping you. You're smarter for doing so especially with the prices the theme parks charge for a single bottle.

Now if only I could figure out how to smuggle in some beer I'd be set :);):p

Perhaps you need to READ this thread and stop jumping to conclusions.

I have read this thread, and responded based on the original post which specifically spoke about getting a cup of water with a meal.

How many people in this thread have actually said that there is an entitlement to cups of water on demand? Something that is offered freely becomes an expectation, hardly reflective of people acting "entitled" or being demanding.

Fabricating an "entitlement" issue and making silly comparisons is just a way for people to be smug and condescending towards anyone who likes the idea of getting a cup of water or takes advantage of it.

What you fail to realize is that what a thread "starts out" being about and what a thread "ends up" being about are two entirely different animals.

The OP started this thread about water with a meal....it quickly became a horse of a different color. Especially two users in particular who kept changing the topic to what they perceived to be a personal affront to their way of life.

Perhaps you have them on ignore?

If you need it that bad... buy some. There is no rule that states that they have an obligation to support your health without some compensation. Contrary to some unbelievable belief, water is not free to anyone that doesn't own a well and even then you have to pay for a pump and the electricity to pump it out of the ground. Why do you think that should be free. As it is, it is free, so I think you are coming out ahead in this deal. Someone had to pay, even for the small cups, you don't seem to want to acknowledge that.

I agree.
I feel people are cheap and that's that.
I'm sorry, but when you get something for free, quit complaining. Why not bring a water bottle? Why not buy a Dasani or a SmartWater? Or pay for a regular cup.

I am absolutely fascinated by this thread...and the mindset of so many posting.

Fascinated, and Frightened.
Me too. Only on this forum can you see people complaining about not getting free water, and have it blossom into an 11 page opus. I have to assume that there is a decent portion of WDW customers that would rather die of thirst than drink all of the free water they can drink from a water fountain. There will never come a day where something as insignificant as free water in cups will negatively impact my trips to WDW. It is absolutely ridiculous.

I truly wonder that if a lot of people who say the most ridiculous things in relation to Disney.. Do they honestly believe what they're saying? Do they know how ridiculous it it? Or are they just typing for shock value?

Hopefully it's the latter.

Seriously? How many people are complaining about not getting free water? I'd guess none since free water is available.

How many people are complaining about the size of the free water? Honestly, how many posts in this thread specifically complain about the water?
