One of my favorite things about Fantasyland was the entrance/queue line to the SkyWay there. It always reminded me of the Bavarianesque cottage where Geppetto made his marvelous toys, and was blessed with his son, Pinocchio. Classic Disney.
Of course, now it's roped off unless Character Greetings are scheduled. I would like to leisurely walk through the building/queue line to see the whimsical architecture.
An ornate building made of mostly wood would be cost-prohibitive to build nowadays, I imagine. Why not just add a simple slide down to ground level where the SkyWay buckets loaded? At least the building could be utililized and enjoyed.
On the other hand, I also enjoyed the modern, contemporary starkness of the SkyWay station in Tomorrowland. A wonderful contrast between the two entrances/exits.
I really miss those old SkyWay buckets. A major loss for the Magic Kingdom, in my opinion.
