Ok. Not blaming them who post them -- I blame Disney -- but all the clips from WandaVision are IMO out of control. We could put together a full episode from all the trailers.

And so, I won't be following this thread anymore and won't click on any articles on the webs.

I'll see you all for the WandaVision spoiler thread after the first episode casts.

I feel like the first two episodes are really gonna make or break this show for a lot of people. I hope the sitcom style doesn't put people off.

I think it is interesting that they are going with the seemingly most "weird" series to kick off Marvel on Disney+. I know that wasn't the original plan, but it seems to me that Falcon and the Winter Soldier - which would probably be more similar in style/tone to the movies - would have made sense to ease people into the connected shows.

i think this will start super happy and joyful and quickly take a darker dramatic turn. If done right this could be a show like we have never seen and something people will talk about for years. The question though is can you grab the non marvel fan children (cant use fanboys any more). No baby yoda and mandalorian is totally different. Baby yoda made that a mainstream show. Will Wandavision be able to bring in that demographic. Personally i think thats why youve seen the ad blitz and 500 trailers, they are hoping to get the non marvel people interested.

Endgame made $2.8 billion worldwide. If they just appeal to people who have seen at least some MCU films ever, they'll be fine. It will be almost impossible for a show like this to engage people who have no knowledge/experience in the greater mythos.

The Mandalorian is way more independent than a show like WandaVision will be. Some MCU shows should easier for novices to watch (e.g. Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, maybe Hawkeye) but I'm skeptical that WandaVision would be easy to follow without the background knowledge of these characters.

Maybe it will be quirky enough that people can watch and enjoy without knowing much about the characters, their history or the setting. I'm not all that convinced, but we'll see.

Ahhh, so Legends is set up to give people some summary on characters in upcoming shows. Today’s episodes are about Vision and Wanda

2 episode release on January 15th confirmed

Good move! I was trying to think positively, but the first episode is likely going to be the most un-marvel (assuming they stick to the conceit of one sitcom generation an episode for the first half of the series).

I do think it’s going to be good, but I don’t know how much nostalgic fondness the average viewer would have for Bewitched; that’s a tough task to sell the entire series conceit on for a week. Critic meanwhile have three episodes.

WandaVision is getting amazing first reactions as press got to view the first three episodes yesterday morning. The review embargo lifts at 9:00 AM on January 14th.

Not reading as I want to avoid all spoilers from this point on! But happy if it is getting a positive response!

Half-hour eps?
Indeed....

Basically, with each season, we're getting a 4.5 - 5.5 hour movie...

Title / #Episodes X Length in Minutes (+/- 5-10 min)

WandaVision / 9 X 30

She-Hulk / 10 X 30

Falcon a/t Winter Soldier / 6 X 45

Loki / 6 X 45

Moon Knight / 6 X 45

Reference:

6 X 45 = 270 min = 4.5 hours

10 x 30 = 300 min = 5 hours

For Comparison with The Mandalorian:

Season 1:
  1. 8 episodes
  2. average length: 39.5 minutes
  3. shortest/longest ep.: 32 / 48
  4. total time: 316 minues (5.3 hours)

Season 2:
  1. 8 episodes
  2. average length: 41.4 minutes
  3. shortest/longest ep.: 33 / 54
  4. total time: 331 minues (5.5 hours) [15 minutes longer than Season 1]

I really do wonder if they'll play with sitcoms as a meta idea. Start off with 30 minute episodes and then go longer as things get weirder. Or even have fake commercials play within the episode

I'm pretty sure the last 3 or so episodes will be close to an hour. 40-50min. Since there will be a lot to deal with. once Wanda realizes something weird is going on and breaks out of her fantasy land and comes back to the real world and then we start dealing with Sword and she realizes the damage shes done to the multiverse and the rumored Doctor Strange cameo.
