It cheapens the whole look of the thing!

The sphere is such a great building becasue is is so pure a shape. The wand not only makes it look like a decoration, it also (since you have something to judge scale by) makes it look smaller.

More importantly, I think it really doesn't help the whole themeing of Future World. Same goes with the stuff in the center of Innoventions. Sure it is neat, but how does it contribute to the overall idea of a futuristic city? Instead of being like walking into the future and this great future, you walk into a decorated store. It kills the idea of the future. It's like the antithesis to the whole creating a total environment thing.

I went for my first time to Disney World in 2000, and I thought it was really cool seeing that big 2000 above SSE. I arrived late to the WDW Fan world though, so I really don't mind either way. I'm one of those people that would think it would look strange for a while after it was gone, like you had lost a huge 100 oak tree in your yard and it left a HUGE hole in the canopy.

Does anyone have anymore pictures of the new projection system? That is really cool! I want to see some video of it looking like SSE is rotating. That would be awesome.

Personally I think it needs to GGGGOOOOO!!! I liked it much more before the whole 2000/EPCOT wand thingy. What are they going to replace it with if they do take it down?
