I wanted to do this for the longest time. Here is the idea. Everyone post what they remember from a specific year starting in 1971 to the present day of 2005 and say what you liked or didnt like about what they did in that year. Even if you werent born yet still play this game. Okay everyone start with 1971!

Disney World Opens to almost non existant crowds, however later attendance took off and the adventure begins...

Umm lets see. In 1972, attendance at WDW MK started rising and preparations for future attractions(some we know and love today) were being planned by WDI.

In December of 1971, I remember the looooong drive getting to the parking lot once on property. Then the tram ride (yes, tram) from the parking lot, past lots of topiaries and the Contemporary, to the front gate of the Magic Kingdom. It was the first time at a Disney park that I was old enough to tour on my own, which was great! I remember thinking that the park was spread out more than Disneyland and there weren't as many rides. They still used tickets then, and I went on If You Had Wings (or whatever it was called then) because it was "free". I also remember that there were construction walls up inside It's A Small World ( I don't think it was quite finnished yet). Those are the things I remember the most. It's been so long ago  !

1976 - Bicentennial celebration parade in the Magic Kingdom. Mickey looked like an old mouse. (Must have been the wardrobe). 1976 could have been the year everything from Frontierland to Main Street USA seemed like Liberty Square.

1985: "Return to Oz" is heavily marketed by the Walt Disney Co. and gets its own enormous float in the Main Street Electrical Parade at the Magic Kingdom. The film tanks and the float magically disappears. Cashiers at food outlets on the parade route realize something is different when the usual slowdown during the parade is a couple minutes shorter than had been customary.

1984: The Magic Kingdom celebrates Donald Duck's 50th birthday with a daytime parade. The parade included a catchy song that still gets stuck in my head to this day.

"Happy birthday. It's Donald's birthday. Happy, happy, birthday to you!"

Does anyone have a picture of the MK Map and EPCOT maps from 1989? That is the first time I was there and I was looking at my Mom's house the other day for them and I can't seem to find them.
