I agree it could be much better. BUT... almost all the gingerbread houses bigger than 2 feet tall are just gingerbread glued to wood or cardboard. Let me know when they're made of nothing but gingerbread, and I'll be impressed.I'm likely to face criticism for saying this, but I believe the artisans behind the Spaceship Earth gingerbread display missed the mark. While it's undoubtedly an impressive feat, I don't think it captures the true essence of the holiday season. Those same geodesic tiles could easily be replicated using cardboard and achieve a similar visual impact. The fact that it's made of gingerbread is "on-point" but for me, that's only half the equation. The other half is about capturing the warm, inviting spirit of the holiday season and embracing the whimsy and charm of gingerbread baking during the holidays.
The beacons of light could have been designed using traditional accents like spice drops or peppermint candies, which I think would have enhanced the overall experience. Don't get me wrong; it's a skillfully crafted piece. However, for me, it falls short of truly feeling festive.
As for the whole ambience of the room: Still disappointingly sterile. Have they not heard of wall decorations?
Maybe more is to come. Or maybe it'll be like other holiday displays in which the budget allows them to add more year over year (like LwtL Christmas lights).
