Then I guess Mickey's elves are going to NYC while the real mickey stays in WDW errr Disneyland.. errr.... Wait, which park does the real Mickey Mouse live in???

Seee my point??? Disney can have the characters in NYC, Philadelphia and other places without an explanation... It is DISNEY MAGIC... :)

I'm practically your neighbor too (Forked River), and I've never heard of the Philly parade either.

That would be cool if you went to see the Macy's parade. Have fun!

Do you have both Abc 6 and 7?, 6 is philly based and 7 (the more common channel is New York)

Quick Question (and I'm not being sarcastic)

Will she sing the song or will it be audio thats been recorded and pumped in?
Will she sing it over and over during the parade route?

Most likely both....seldom do the artists actually do the singing....it's usually lipsyncing

Yup, she would most likely sing in front of the cameras, and the rest will be a recording.

Well since I work on the "6ABC/Boscov's Thanksgiving Day Parade" in Philly I figure I might add a little input. I think its a little rude that Disney is giving the attention to NYC's parade and not ours considering we beat out the Macy's parade in Neilson ratings by a margin last year and considering we are a Disney parade (paid for in part and broadcast by ABC Television). However, it is always nice to work with the guys from WDW, they deff. make the parade a lot more fun (especially the truck load of Disney merch. they gave out last year to the on-camera aud.).

We also have a more Disney advantage to the Philly parade, the production is run by many of the guys who work with Lightship Entertainment to produce the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade.

As for the singing question, all of the singers in our parade are pre-recorded (we just dont tell the youth choir that because it looks more real with their lips moving). This leads me to believe she will be a CD track and a muted microphone.

When you say that they beat Macys in the ratings, I'm assuming you mean for Pennsylvania. The thing is that Macy's parade is the famous one and is the nationally seen one. In 2002, its ratings were 15.0/30.

This is good news can't wait for the parade. Now the next thing I want to see is Disney's participation in the parade in Chicago when Marshall Field's changes over to Macy's. Err.......on second thought maybe not, the characters might get pelted with paint cans by angry Chicagoans.

WHAT!?!?!!! They can't do that! That would be like, like, like Disney changing to Universal! Will they still have Frango Mints?

Actually what I meant is that a lot of stores now sell a generic type mint like the Frangos. (at least in the Chicago area) So, I don't know when they change over if it will be the actual Frango Mint or some generic type labeled as "Frango Mints".

In the markets that carry both parades, the 6ABC/Boscov's Thanksgiving Day Parade beat out the Macy's parade by 8.0 points. This does not just include the Philadelphia market, the parade is broadcasted througout the Deleware Valley, Lehigh Valley, other scattered parts Pennsylvania, New York, and parts of Maryland. The parade might also be carried in more markets then I am unaware of, that is just the list i know off hand from previous parades. Each year more and more stations in the Northeast air the parade (which I say proudly is the oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the nation).
