Hey, I was interested in buying a guide book for Walt Disney World and catch up on some things. I want a recent one, so 2008 Guide books would be best, does anyone on the board know what guide books are the best or most informative? Thanks!

Guide book suggestion

My husband and I are planning a trip un July and we were told to purchase The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2008. It has so much info you have to read a little at a time. It seems to have great ideas/suggestions on everything. I think it is the best purchase I could have made.:)

'Passporter 2008' is not flashy and for that reason is often overlooked.
We have found it to be, however, the guide book that has the most information organized in the best manner.

The 'Unofficial Guide' is also good, particularly if you want to read more comments.

Good luck.

Personally, we like the Birnbaum Book and if you are traveling with kids Birnbaum makes a book for Kids by Kids, my DD11 and DS6 love it! The Unofficial Guide is also good.

I'm pretty sure you can. *Ding!*
Hey Len, quick question, when does the 2nd edition of the 2008 guide come out? And will it refer to the Studios as Hollywood Studios or do we have to wait for the '09 for that?

The second 2008 version should have it - we had a list of around 70 corrections and the 'find and replace' for DHS was one of them.

We finished those updates around January 5, and the second version should be out in late February. It contains all of the corrections posted on the site, plus new reviews of Yak and Yeti (both), O Canada!, SSE, Haunted Mansion, a detailed analysis of the new dining plan, Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, advance stroller rentals at the resorts, V&A's banning kids under 10, updates to the Jim Hill stuff, and more.

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to include any of the results from our new reader survey. I alluded to the resort satisfaction questions on another thread, but the full impact of all of that won't be released until August.

Anything special y'all want to see in the 2009 edition? Anything you think needs to be cut down from the current edition? Let me know.

Len
