WALT DISNEY WORLD FOR OUR TENTH ANNIVERSARY... HELP!!

Please excuse me if Ive posted this in the wrong area, but Im a newb. The family and I are returning to WDW in September, and this year its a fairly special occasion. My wife and I will be celebrating our tenth anniversary. She has basically sacrificed what was a huge party for us so that we can go back this year (as I got really sick last year when we went for the first time), so I want to make sure that this is a trip she will never forget.
I have already got the plans together for a spa day for her and her friend who is coming with us, and was thinking of doing one of the in room gift surprises, but I was wondering if anyone with more Disney experience had some recommendations that might really make this awesome for her. She is not as Mouse Crazy as I am, but does have a soft spot for Belle.
I really want this to be worth it for her in the end as well.

I agree with @PrincessNelly_NJ ! A cake delivered to either your room or dinner would be awesome. Check out the cake thread http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/wdwmagic-takes-the-cake-the-official-cake-talk.863023/for some great ideas. The dessert party would be great too, we've enjoyed it on our last couple of trips. Where are you staying? The carriage rides at PORS sound pretty romantic. The spa day sounds wonderful.

If she loves Belle you could always have a meal at the princess place in Norway (I can never spell it) Akerhus? I'm pretty sure you get your picture taken with Belle prior to the meal.

I hope you have a wonderful trip. DH and I will be celebrating our 15th at WDW in 9 days. We can't wait!

Thank you both so much! We are staying at AS Movies, as we are going in a group of 12, and had to make it affordable for everyone. I will check out the cake thread as that sounds incredible. We were looking at Akerhus, but she wants to do Cinderellas Royal Table so I dont know if she'll want to do both. Is Akerhus the only one that Belle is at?
I know if you do the storytime and volunteer for the story, you get a pic with her as well, so maybe I can get her in there.
For the carriage ride, do you have to be staying there?

Also, congratulations on the 15 years!! That is incredible!!

We'll be going for our 10th anniversary this year too. Congrats!

I agree with a specialty cruise. You can rent a private cruise to watch Wishes at the Magic Kingdom or Illuminations at Epcot, with the option to add on dining, cakes, or celebration banners.

Or how about a private portrait session at one of the Deluxe resorts (Disney event photography does them, as well as some great local photographers).

No you don't have to be staying at the resort for the carriage rides. They also have them at Fort Wilderness. Maybe a lovely dinner at WL and then a carriage ride? I'm not sure of logistics for that but a boat ride from MK to WL and then the carriage ride sounds like a wonderful evening.

You don't have to be staying at the resort where the carriage rides are- we've done them at both Port Orleans Riverside and Fort Wilderness, and enjoyed both! They do take walk ups, but I would make reservations just in case.

I think one of the cruises is a great idea. Since it's a large party it would cut the cost if everyone is willing to chip in.

@RH Kelly Did you ever think of renting DVC points? It is a great way to save money and stay deluxe. That may make things a bit more special
I did not know you could do that! I will have to look into that one! Where would I find the info?

I am looking at the cruises, thinking with our group size that would be quite the experience!

I use DVCRENTALSTORE.COM. I like that they allow you to put down a partial deposit and pay the rest 45 days out just like disney.
David's DVC Vacation Rentals is highly rated as well.
They each have point calculators and you can check out the price before booking.

Disney cruises can be pricey but amazing. Castaway Cay is awesome!

First off Congrats on 10 years :) We are going for our 10 year wedding anniversary too and I highly recommend a romantic dinner at Victoria and Alberts. We went on our honeymoon and I was a VERY picky eater when we first got married. Well I tried everything they offered and it was delish! Definitely make reservations now and you have to pay for it yourself (it isn't covered under the dining plan, if you are getting it) but it's worth every penny.

The Grand Floridian has an afternoon tea that is very nice and a good way to spend some time together in an unrushed setting. Ostensibly tailored towards women, they do have a targeted men's menu.

If V&A is too pricey, Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht club is very nice and they do a nice service. And if you are celebrating an anniversary, they do have a couple of nice touches they will add.

I'll second the carriage rides - very romantic!

La Nouba is an awesome show.

Have fun - and congratulations!!!

La Nouva looks great!! Oh, and how's this for anniversary surprises? My wife surprised me today by letting me know that she made some changes to our reservations. We are now staying at the Home Run section of AS Sports (I really wanted to do that one, but we were doing Toy Story again for the kids) and she also moved it up to the week before, we are now leaving a whole seven days earlier!! Do I have the greatest wife ever or what?

Gonna tag @sweetpee_1993 for this convo.

As far as La Nouba...you should call them directly. For a slight upcharge over the tickets available through Disney, you can get front row, center seats. For that venue, it's worth it. Also, if you let them know you are celebrating, the clowns may mess with you!

Show up early to the show...the preshow with the clowns is excellent!

You'll want Section 102, aisle seat next to section 103.
Section 103, aisle seat, either side.
or
Section 104, aisle seat facing section 103.

All those seats will give you the most interaction with characters that come out into the house, or walk onto the stage. I've sat in the first 3 over the years, and thoroughly enjoyed every show. The tickets available through disney are randomly chosen seats based on what cirque books first (their box office has override priviledges)...so, think of them like airline tickets. You know the general category you are going to get, but not the exact seat when you buy through Disney. With Cirque, you can request the seat. The core tickets are the same price as what Disney offers (there is no discount through Disney...Cat 1 is Cat 1...Cat 2 is Cat 2, etc...period)...so...no reason to buy through Disney.

Another anniversary question...going in about a month to celebrate our 17th. Already have a nice dinner planned but I often see pics where restaurants provide desserts for those celebrating anniversaries. Is this something you can set up in advance, do you let them know at the door or do people get this because they are wearing an anniversary button?
