Paging @lentesta who might be able to help break some numbers down.

I hope this perk dies a hard death in 2026 and they resurrect something from the pre-covid cupboard. Or simply improving this perk would be fine - one free Water Park day during a resort-check in/check-out window.

I think we talked about this when it came out, including the number of flights that landed at MCO in time to use the perk. We thought Disney had done a good job forecasting out peak demand.

Yes lets cheer on WDW for taking away perks. Brah

I'm driving down this summer. I will be arriving the day before my check in and making use of this.

Only big fans really do that, I’d imagine. Thanks for throwing us a bone?

We have a Disney cruise next summer and have BLT one night on our return. Maybe we will go to Typhoon. Off the ship around 7 am anyway.
It’s actually one perk that DVCers might use more. It could even be an incentive to book a split stay if people like a rest day in the middle of their vacation.

My condition to kill this bubble perk is conditional my friend.

In many situations, it's a complete throwaway perk. If the stars align, it's a nice perk to utilize.

Maybe it's a $315 savings for family of 4 if you can use it?

Like today for instance the perk will be used by 0% since the water parks are closed. On the best day (let's say July - no storms), maybe 10% of arrivals use it? (I'll eat my words a bit if both water parks end up running simultaneously again)

Based on the actual usage, I wouldn't be shocked if the true cost for Disney to run this perk might up being less than a $1/person for the resort arrivals.

Definitely think it is just an "extra" that either people use or don't - but wasn't something they had in the past so not like they are losing anything

Granted, easy for me to say as I think we may take advantage of it twice this year

Hopefully they keep it but continue to add additional small things

Another interesting thing about this benefit is for those splitting between Uni and Disney on their trip. Might tip people to going to Uni first and Disney second. Also cause them to spend their swing day at Disney.

definitely one thing we are targeting for our trip end of August - hoping to do a couple of nights at Uni for a day at EPIC and then transfer to Disney and would use this on that "arrival" day

Something to add about the perk not being usable for everyone… unless they get both parks open again, the waterparks nearly hit capacity every Friday-Sunday last year during peak waterpark time without this perk in place. They just can’t have that many people take advantage of this perk.

Me waiting for TDO to take this away so I can call it “a removal of a perk”:

We typically do split stays and only drive, never fly, so this works for us but I can that wouldn't for many. Between flight delays and the exhaustion of air travel, I could see not wanting to run straight to the water park.

It's frustrating because it is a perk that not every single Resort Guest can use.
Late arrivals.
Cold temperatures.
Water parks that close early.
Water parks closed for capacity.

But that is a lot of perks. When they had Magical Express if your drove you didn't need that. Free parking at the parks doesn't help if you don't drive. Etc

I just see it as another extra like when you get that packet of things with a package like the free mini golf or whatever. Something that maybe you use and enjoy, maybe not, but not what you booked your vacation for

Ever since I started going to the parks solo, all of my flights out of Houston have been in the mornings, landing at MCO before or around 11am. Actually just came back from one – left IAH 8am and arrived 11:30am.

I usually just drop my luggage off at the resort (or most times room is already ready) and head straight to the parks, but if I had this perk on arrival day then, maybe I would've taken advantage of it.
