Students at Disney University can choose from a variety of majors. Specializing in certain fields such as engineering, architecture, musical theater, art, and more, Disney University will be a vibrant academic center, with a plethora of courses to allow the students to explore new and exciting fields.
Students won't have to declare their major until Junior Year, and in their Freshman Year, are encouraged to try new subjects and fields, to get a broader liberal arts education.
One of the most popular tracts at Disney University is our "Imagineer-track" where students take courses designed to prepare them for a career in themed entertainment. In 1967, Disney University admitted 47% of the application pool, and out of the 47%, 32% had signed up for the Imagineer-track, which would look like this for a typical student.

3 - Student Life
Students of Disney University will be blessed with the most modern of amenities, and a nurturing academic, as well as personal environment. With just a Peoplemover ride away from E.P.C.O.T., or a rapid transit Monorail Ride to the theme park district of Walt Disney World, the students at Disney University will have a lap of luxury at their disposal.
As seen on the campus map, one of the unique features of Disney University is that the buildings on campus are connected by utilidors. This way students can bring their inventions into different academic wings without having to go outside. It also enables an A/C walking path, so students don't have to bear the scorching heat when walking to class. This also provides a connected feel to the campus, and a campus design that is not unique, as campuses such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology use a similar design.
The major Halls are named after Imagineers at WED Enterprises. Most of the halls feature very modern designs that blend in with the futuristic design of E.P.C.O.T., featuring contemporary gray backgrounds, and chrome compliments
Disney University features 3 major sports complexes, which are home to the Disney University Dreamers. DU is a Division I school in 12 different sports including:
Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Lacrosse, Swimming, Diving, Volleyball, and Rowing
The Student Union, the "hub" of extracurricular activities, is housed Ken Anderson Hall, with a wide variety of student organizations including:
The Society of Junior Imagineers, Outdoors Club, Band Club, Art Club, Lyndon B. Johnson Club, Civil Rights Club, Future Astronaut Club, People Watching Club (I had this club at my school...it exists), Singing Club, Knitting Club, Poetry Club, D23 Club, Club 33, Club 52, and much much more.
The main library on campus is in Mary Blair Hall. There is also a Student Dining Hall nearby, as well as small food trucks throughout the campus.
Students have the option of living in the on-campus dormitories in Rolly Crump Quad or choosing to live off campus in the greater Orlando Area.
4 - Recreation
Students have many places to go after classes are over and they are looking for a study break. Aside from the plethora of sports and club options on-campus, students can explore the greater Walt Disney World area, including the theme parks and the city, with just a quick Peoplemover or Monorail Ride.
Special discounted student passes to the parks are available, and students who partake in the WED Enterprises Internship over the summer of their Sophomore-Junior Year will have a 6 week intensive program in both WDW and Disneyland Resort in California, learning about all the new endeavors of WED and how they are pushing towards progress.
Students who live off campus can explore attractions in the Orlando area (though most students tend to stay in the WDW area)
5 - Transportation
The Green-Line Peoplemover travels through the Green Belt and Perfect Park Acres areas of suburban E.P.C.O.T., where the main campus is located. While the Medical School campus and Teaching Hospital are located close-by the main campus, the Law School and Management Grad School Buildings are located in the heart of the city, near the judicial centers and business hubs.
The Green-Line will take two stops before arriving at the hub of the city, where students can take transportation to the airport if they are going home for the holidays, or to the theme park district.
Overall, Disney University inspires one and all with a dream of creating and a dream of the future. It encourages its students to try new things and challenge themselves, in an environment that stimulates the mind and gives everyone the opportunity to succeed. Disney University is a vital part of E.P.C.O.T. as it signifies the growing community of tomorrow by teaching the minds of the future.

Awesome - thanks! And yeah that's exactly what I based it off of MIT I felt was a good baseline for an engineering-centric universityI really like this! It reminds me of MIT/ CalTech I'm not sure there's much (if anything) I would add. I can work on designing the cities primary high school(s) and the Egypt pavilion.
I'll tag some people who may be interesting in doing an aspect of this - or may have an idea of their own - the more people we have on this team the merrier!Walt Disney World - Phase 1 (1966-1986) Overview
There are a lot of ideas floating around, if we do want to finish this by Christmas, I'd say the best way to go about it is to narrow our focus first, and then expand out those narrow concepts, rather than just open brainstorm several different concepts at once.
Here's what we have so far as open ideas, I say we focus on these first, then we can divide up the content, based on everyone's interests...
I may have missed an idea here or there, but this is just to give people like @kmbmw777 a Spark Note version.
Blue Sky Park Concepts
Adventureland Park
- Essentially Disney SEA/Adventureland in a blender. Ideas can range from revamped Jungle Cruises, to Pirates, to Fire Mountain, S.E.A. based attractions, orginal attractions, and more. All themed around the concept of "Adventure"
American Adventure Park
- From the colonial era to the national parks, this park will be a symbol of the American frontier. Loosely based around the Virginia park Disney's America.
Fantasyland Park
- From mythology, to folklore, to dreamscapes, to Disney animated films - this Fantasyland will be mix of the Fantasyland you know today in the MK, combined with stuff such as Beastly Kingomme, original concepts, and more.

We need to focus on what makes a city:
- Map - we have a prototype map, but a detailed map would be good to agree on and keep everything organized
- Building Designs - this will be a skyscraper city, so what will they look like? Art/detail/design of the buildings and their locations
- The Hub - the center transportation center in the middle of the city for Monorail rapid transit and peoplemover transport to the suburbs. We also need descriptions of Bus, boat, taxi transportation services. Biking as well.
- Shopping/Dining District
- Financial District/Downtown
- Sports Complex/Sports Teams
- Hospitals/Medical Care/PD/Fire
- Parks/Rivers/Natural Environment descriptions.
- Schools, Colleges descriptions
- Recreation description
- Suburban living descriptions
and anything else that people would want - those are just the general stuff to get us started.

World Showcase Boardwalk
Basically this is taking the concept of World Showcase, and making it into a permanent Worlds Fair outside of the parks...sort of like a newfound Disney Springs/Boardwalk combo.
Many pavilions have been completed, and here are some that are still left if anyone wants.
Australia, South Pacific, Canada, First Nations, and America.
-- In Progress --
Resorts and Hotels
We'd probably need around 10 - 15 resorts by 1986, we have a few such as the Star Wars Resort (1983), and the Timber Peak Lodge (1972), among others, but if you have an idea for a concept - please feel free to share it!
There can be more minor details added, but I think that should be enough for Phase 1 to keep us occupied for a few months... and I think in the end - this project could be the most elaborate and amazing project ever put on this forum!
Wow, there's so much I'm interested in! First Nations pavilion, a hotel, Fantasyland, Adventureland Park....I don't know what to choose!I'll tag some people who may be interesting in doing an aspect of this - or may have an idea of their own - the more people we have on this team the merrier!

You can start with one and work your way up!Wow, there's so much I'm interested in! First Nations pavilion, a hotel, Fantasyland, Adventureland Park....I don't know what to choose!
That's an awesome concept!!I don't know if anybody would ever think this idea would be worth a flip but I had this idea at Hollywood Studios a few months ago when I was thinking about how much I was gonna miss Streets of America. I think it would be awesome if there was like a park that was sort of a "retirement home" for attractions that have to be removed to make room for new attractions. It would be like a whole park of pure Disney nostalgia and that way we'd never have to say goodbye to the attractions we love and also our kids could experience the attractions that we all grew up with. It could be a park with more obscure character meet and greets and rides like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and even old shows we all miss. I don't know. That's just what I was thinking would be cool. Maybe I just need to learn to let go? LOL!
My bonus challenge: Develop an "elevator pitch" for re-purposing the “Leave a Legacy” monuments at Epcot.
Dreamer’s Workshop: The Legacy of Disney Imagineering
In 1999, WDW offered guests the opportunity to “Leave a Legacy” on granite megaliths in front of Spaceship Earth at Epcot, under an agreement permitting an eventual moving of them. I’m suggesting relocating them to the entry of a NEW Future World pavilion (located between The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends) called Dreamer’s Workshop: The Legacy of Disney Imagineering – a walk-through experience, filled with exhibits/videos from former Epcot attractions, thus allowing us to re-experience those memories we all loved while at the same time celebrating the work of Disney Imagineers. Enter the pavilion listening to the music of Epcot Center, as we walk past a full-scale mock-up of the desert farm from Horizons and smell the oranges (deep breath), then view Horizons' Omnimax movie, behold the Magic Palette from the original Journey Into Imaginations, walk past vignettes from World of Motion, or watch Kitchen Kabaret’s Veggies and Fruits strut their stuff. Wouldn't it be great to board “hydrolators” once again, or pass through Imagination’s rainbow light corridor, on our way to watching videos of the opening from The Living Seas, or Ellen competing on Energy Jeopardy? Finally, interspersed throughout the pavilion are models, plans and renderings from the original Epcot designs, in further celebration of Walt Disney Imagineers.
Yeah and I mean we really know what all the rides would be like and it would just be cool to design the exteriors and theming. Like the "Main St." of that park could be in a black and white color scheme and the different lands could open up in to "technicolor" and stuff like that. Also we could finally have a Steamboat Willie Meet and Greet on the east coast which I would KILL for! We could have restaurants with character meals featuring vintage characters that you don't really see anymore. Things like that. That's an awesome concept!!
It reminds me of what @OvertheHorizon had done for the One Sentence Contest, which I really enjoyed
It could be connected by a lake in the center, and go around clockwise by time. Starting with black & white and moving to color while transitioning from different themes. For instance the entrance area could be nautical themed and the gateway to the beginning to the left and and more recent to the right. Nautical themed would allow it o start with Steamboat willie and finish with 20K. and going clockwise from steamboat willie with everything black and white, it could go from nautical to fantasy with let's say Sleeping Beauty's Village being at the start and as you work your way into the land to Maleficent's castle. Moving on would start to take you to a miniland for Mr Toad, and then to A space land for Alien Encounter, next to figment with 20K land being more like Steampunk Jules Verne so it will transition very well. Only thing would be from toad to future, there needs to be something in between. And finally at the entrance would be Horizons as it is a view of the future! Mind you all of these rides would be updated to at least Disneyland Peter Pan level, while others like 20K could be quality like Indy. And a combo of old and new would work great. Updated classics like Horizons & 20K would go great with a Steamboat willie, and Maleficent ride. The Black and white land with Steamboat Willie towards the entrance could have Animator's Palate as a restaurant too.Yeah and I mean we really know what all the rides would be like and it would just be cool to design the exteriors and theming. Yeah I was also thinking villains should play a more prominent role as well. Like maybe a whole land dedicated to them that has a more "mischievous" nature to it so as not to scare the little ones. Maybe somebody like Pete could be main mascot of it since he's the original Disney villain anyway and is also on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Maybe even a Nightmare Before Christmas attraction since it still has tons of fans. I would say Spectro Magic would be the evening parade. Wouldn't you? Also if we done a waterway type thing we could bring back the boat rides that used to be in the MK as well.It could be connected by a lake in the center, and go around clockwise by time. Starting with black & white and moving to color while transitioning from different themes. For instance the entrance area could be nautical themed and the gateway to the beginning to the left and and more recent to the right. Don't know if this makes any sense, but think of a theme and time transitioning Islands of Adventure in design just with the lands being innovative compared to that part in how the lands are. I have a ton of ideas and the Islands comparison is definitely the best, but it would still be very different.
Welcome David! For sure you can do that next weekend!I'll take the Hub or American Adventure Park if that's okay with everyone. But I can't do anything until next weekend as I will arrive at Disney World the day after tomorrow.
Any photos in particular that anyone wants?
I've built a 1+ square mile city along with some friends in Minecraft, so I am pretty familiar in what needs to be done at a hub.
