Anther random thought today...

What if by Epcot city in the expanded Bay Lake Sam made... We make a giant island... Specifically for movie sets? A giant island for movie production....o_O

Streets of America x20... Just an amazing spot for filmmakers? Maybe have a boat tour surrounding the island, like the backlot tour....:D

@JokersWild may have some ideas with that....

Incredible idea, but an island is really super impractical. Unless there are a ton of high capacity and load bearing bridges to the island, it wouldn't work.

However, a water-based back lot tour sounds amazing.

How about the area right by the water then? :D Realistic beach sets could also go there...

Any ideas on what a "perfect" film area would have set wise? :bookworm:

New, much more detailed Epcot Map. White is roads. Each 'petal' is a city neighborhood and the red buildings make up the business center. Each of these 'petals' can be designed and edited to fit its need. For example, one petal could be a traditional neighborhood while another could be for the University.

I also was able to find the HD map of the theme resort area from the original masterplan as seen in the EPCOT film:

I'll get back to you on this
That's a loaded question. I'll come back to this.

Sounds good guys! :D

Again, love the map Sam! Great progress... I have some ideas on the peoplemovers I may post tonight or tomorrow. Make them cheaper to use in a sense.

and If a rollar dome doesn't say 60s-70s plans I don't know what does :p:hilarious:

Seriously though, another great find Sam!

I Kinda like what they did here.... We could put an ice rink in our central plaza. Of course the rollar dome nearby would make sense for the 70s... but then we could easily tear that down and then put an giant HOB type concert area right next door in the 80s and 90s.....2000s change it to the indoor ski area. :D

That Cape Cod bay area.... That's really where @IAmNotAHufflepuff 's resort could go theme wise.... and it'd fit quite well...

The South Seas theme resort plan... I think that design may actually work well for out World Showcase Boardwalk... I may do some art on that. :bookworm:

Theme park hotel wise, we're already adding hotels at the front of each park, so that should actually work... But I do like the layout....

I will go into some details on what would go in each land. First for the entry land maybe an expo but I really have no idea.

For the Sci fi land I really don't know what could be in there during opening day because I think it will open in the 80s and Disney doesn't have many popular Sci fi movies other than 2000 leagues under the sea. But for later maybe a Star Wars land and a land with a buzz and stitch rides.

For the realistic future land I think it could be anchored by horizons and the horizon resort could have it's own entrance into the park through that land.

For the throughout the times land we could do a lot but in the 2000s I think we should do an waste land apocalypse land with a mad max ride maybe.

Finally for the space port land we obviously have space mountain. For the rest of the land I think this is where a lot of tomorrowlands classic rides could go like Astro orbiter maybe a people mover system. We could also have alien encounter but ours wouldn't be replaced hopefully.

I think Alien Encounter would work better in Sci-Fi, but Mission to Mars could go in the space port. Also, I really want to add Xanadu, but we should probably wait until technology is better. Spaceport could have the entrance to it though.

Totally random guys, but I just had an alternate history idea that we could possibly work in to this project.

In the 1956 election, Eisenhower suddenly dies and isn't able to obviously run for reelection. Nixon, though VP and now President is beat by Walt Disney who enters the race for the Republican nomination.

Walt goes on to pick Nixon as his running mate and wins the election. Walt goes on to win in the 1960 election against Democratic nominee, Lyndon Johnson. In 1964, JFK is narrowly elected, but looses his 1968 reelection bid to Nixon.

Nixon serves from 1969-1977 and in 1976 Democrat Henry Jackson is elected. His unpopularity results in Ronald Reagan being elected in 1980 and serving until 1989. His vice-president Bob Dole serves from 1989-1990, after suffering a major heart attack his Vice-President George H.W. Bush assumes the office and wins reelection in 1992.

In 1996 Governor Bill Clinton is elected and does not run for reelection in 2000 because of a series of sex scandals. In 2000 his Vice-President Al Gore is elected and serves two terms. In 2008, following the financial crisis, Mitt Romney, son of former Vice-President George Romney is elected. He was re-elected in 2012. His Vice-President Kamala Harris leads the 2016 field.

All in the background, Epcot is playing a major role in the American economy.
