Welcome everyone to this thread where I will talk about my new project, The Walt Disney Resort. In the future Disney will announce this new project. This new resort will be an upcoming Disney theme parks resort on a Disney man-build island somewhere in the ocean between Mexico and the United States. This island would be huge and would be the biggest Disney resort when it completes. The resort will have the advantage of size like the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disney atmosphere like Disneyland Resort, the efficiency and maintenance of Tokyo Disney Resort, the beauty of Disneyland Resort Paris, the service of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and the originality of Shanghai Disneyland Resort.

This resort will include five theme parks:
  • Walt Disneyland Park
  • Disney's Kingdom of Stories
  • Disney's Movie Studios
  • Disney's Wild Kingdom
  • Project Living Universe
three water parks:
  • Disney's Atlantis
  • Disney's Lava Lagoon
  • Disney's Grizzly Springs
three transportation centers:
  • Walt Disney Resort Port( Disney Cruise Line and other boats)
  • Disney Air Station( Airplanes)
  • Motion Center( Monorail, metro, bus, boats)
two dining and entertainment centers:
  • Disneytopia
  • Beachside Marketplace
And a lot of stay-over destinations including:
  • Safari Lodge Resort
  • Walt Disney Palace Resort
  • Jungala Treehouse Resort
  • Fort Wilderness Campground
  • The Beach Club Resort
This resort will be the ultimate vacation destination with so many things to do for all members of your family. As a plus, this resort will include amazing innovation, using the glory of the past and placing it in a modern setting by using modern technologies. With immersion and detaills on the level of places like Carsland, Wizarding World of Harry Potter and upcoming areas such as Pandora and Star Wars Land, audio animatronics and effects on the level of rides like Frozen Ever After, Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure and Peter Pan's Flight(Shanghai Disneyland) and amazing meet and greet experiences like the moving and talking costumes of Mickey Mouse, this resort will cross the lines of theme park levels and will be a completely new way of Disney entertainment. In every post I will talk about one area of a theme park/ entertainment center, stay-over destination, transportation center or show/parade. So as you probably have noticed, this is a very big project and this is going to take a while. I will try to post 2-3 times a week, but this will differ depending on whether my personal life will get in the way or not. Also I will try to still continue posting in the Next Generation: Walt Disney World Resort thread, but that also depends on the available time.

In the next few posts I will talk about the first theme park, Walt Disneyland Park which includes 6 themed areas.

This sounds spectacular!

I would suggest changing the awkward sounding "Walt Disneyland Park" to a more simple "Disneyland Park".

If you want to dream big, maybe cut out one of the theme parks and replace it with an entire Star-Wars themed park.

Just my two cents...

Walt Disneyland Park will be the official name but people will probably just call it Disneyland Park anyway, similar to people saying Disney World instead of Walt Disney World.

Star Wars is going to be featured in the Disney's Movie Studios. I just don't really feel something for a whole theme park dedicated to one franchise, no matter how big it is. Besides, I don't have enough knowledge about the Star Wars franchise to create a theme park.

Great to see you thinking about ideas though, I'd love to hear more of them throughout the project.

It's great to see ya back. And just a couple of things to ask you...
1. Is Project Living Universe going to be similar to Epcot Center?
2. Is Disney's Kingdom of Stories going to Fantasyland as a theme park or be similar to Fantasyland?
3. Is it okay if I recommend adding another resort hotel, or should that be for later on when you get to the stay-over destination section of the forum?
1. Yes, but on a bigger scale. It will have a way larger world showcase and new future world like areas.
2. Not completely. This theme park will have areas based on different types of storytelling and story themes like Sea legends, myths, folktales etc. There will be a Fantasyland like area here though called Fairy Tale Forest, which will be like New Fantasyland on a bigger scale.
3. Sure you can share ideas. The stay-over destinations i mentioned aren't all of them, because I have about 30 or so.

The first theme park of the resort will be:
Walt Disneyland Park:
This park will be the Magic Kingdom Park of the Resort. It will include 6 themed areas being Walt Disney Avenue, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Discoveryland and Tomorrowland. Each area will have attractions, restaurants, shops, detailed décor and entertainment. The park will be located near a lake. Near the entrance are a port for boats( similar to the ones in Walt Disney World Resort), bus stations, an underground metro station and a monorail station. A large square with flower beds and a statue of various Disney characters around the castle of Walt Disneyland Park can be found in front of the ticket kiosks and entrances of the park. Also four fountains will be around this square. Past the ticket kiosks you will be in front of the Walt Disney Train Station. When you pass under one of the two tunnels of the station you will reach a new world. The port of entry to this world is
Walt Disney Avenue:

In the tunnels are posters of various attractions of the park. The Walt Disney Train Station is one of 5 stations of the Walt Disney Steam Train, which transports people around the park. Celebrate classic Americana combined with classic Disney magic as you beard a magical timeless train for a full circle tour of Walt Disneyland Park. During the trip guests will be able to see different things like attractions and audio animatronic scenes. Walt Disney Avenue will be a mix of Main Street U.S.A, Mickey Avenue, Hollywood Boulevard and Toontown. On the sides of the street will be trees which brings an option of shade and also more realism to the area. It will be an area dedicated to Walt Disney and his visions. On the entry plaza is Walt Disney's Golden Carousel, a beautifully adorned carousel with two levels. A jolly tune plays while guests spin around a Disney decorated attraction. The vehicles will be horses and even some Disney characters like the Fantasia creatures. Mickey and his friends meet guests at the plaza. Also on the streets are live music bands. Get in the swing as lively ensembles welcome you to Walt Disney Avenue with a high-spirited mix of music. Some of these are real cast members while others are audio animatronic dioramas. Examples of these are the Three Little Pigs, The Skeleton Jamboree and Mickey's Concert band. A newsie will spread the Walt Disney Daily newspaper, which will be similar to the Buena Vista Bugle. The newspaper will have information about Walt Disney Avenue, so for example about shows, but also other things like Horace solved yet another case, but he's looking for assistents as more cases are coming in or the Sugar Plum Salon has new flavors or something about Walt Disney himself.
On the left will be the Carthay Circle Theatre. The Golden Mickeys will play here in the theatre. Mickey and Minnie will host the show. The movies represented will be Little Mermaid, Tangled, Lion King, Brave, Aladdin, Monsters Inc. and many more. The show will be 30 minutes long. Next to the theatre will be the float yard for the parades and for the Walt Disney Avenue Vehicles including horse carriages, taxis and omnibuses. Also transporting people around the area will be the Red Trolley Line. This trolley will bring you all the way to the Sorcerer's Castle which can be found at the end of Walt Disney Avenue. More details about this icon will be provided later. On the opposite side will be the World of Disney Museum. Here you can find the One Man's Dream Gallery. This gallery will teach guests about Walt's life, the theme parks, the movies and even some things about the future of Disney.
505hkdl_goldenmickeys1.jpg
On the right side of the street will be the Music Land Shop where you can find musical souvenirs. Next to this will be the Creator's Workshop, a table service restaurant based on a cartoonist's house. There will be various sketches of different Disney characters all around the restaurant. Maybe some will start to move. Then you will find the Mad Hatter Haberdasher, where you will find hats of all sizes and for everyone in your group. Following is the McDuck Arcade. This arcade includes various games for the whole family. The arcade has various details linking to the backstory of Scrooge McDuck and his family. On the corner is the Sweetheart's Bakery, where guests follow the delicious scents of bread goods and pastries. Watch as sweets are made right before your eyes in a real-life bakery. Then give in to your heart's delight with chocolate, cookies, croissants and other tasty treats.
Then we will find a side street where you will first find the Pin Collector's Post. Here you can find different pins of the resort's locations, disney characters and more. This will lead to a small square surrounded by trees. In the center of the square is a fountain. At the end of the square is a circular building hosting the Carousel of Progress. Travel through the years to see how technology has improved our way of life during this classic Audio-Animatronic show which premiered at the New York World Fair. Next is the Crystal Palace Jewelry Shop. This shop is very similar to the Uptown Jewelers and the Crystal Arts shops. Following up is Tony's Restaurant where Lady and the Tramp had their romantic dinner. Guests can enjoy Italian and American dishes and listen to music from the classic Disney movie.
Walking on you will find the Avenue Cinema. This will be a small place to sit down and watch some old Disney shorts. They will also sell cinema snacks like popcorn, peanuts and soda. On the corner you will find the Sugar Plum Salon. Here guests can enjoy ice cream and other frozen drinks and snacks while listening to the music of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Then you will find yourself at the heart of the park. The Sorcerer's Castle shines with pride at the end of this happy hub. Trees, flower beds, fountains, ponds and statues surround the area. In the center of the hub is the famous partners statue. The South-right area is where you will find Walt's. This table service restaurant will be a true dedication to Walt with photos, concept art and various artifacts around the tables. Interactive and kinetic elements will be present around several spots in the hub. Also small kiosks with sandwiches, snacks and souvenirs will be open for guests to explore. Random characters will meet guests at several spots around the hub too.
On the other side of the hub is the Red Wagon Inn restaurant. This will be a buffet service restaurant based on the Missouri horse wagons. Next is Goofy's Sports Club, a quick service similar to Casey's Corner. Guests will be able to enjoy great American food and watch Goofy sport shorts. Then you will find Mickey's House of Amaze. This shop will be a magic shop. Guests can watch cast members perform magic tricks and can even buy objects to perform their own. Next to this is the Hall of Illusions. This walkthrough attraction will be a gallery with images tricking people with optical illusions. Further on is Daisy's Confectionery. Here you can buy candy and sweets of all sizes shapes and colours.
Then there is a small walkthrough building called Pete's Hair Salon in the side street. Here you will see audio animatronics of Pete and his guests in his hair salon. Next is the Broken Toy Shop. This shop will be based on the Silly Symphonies short, Broken Toys. Dolls, cuddly friends and other toy will be sold here. At the end of the side street is the Walt Disney Avenue Hotel. This will be a walkthrough madhouse attraction inside a mad hotel with spinning floors, turning walls, laughing portraits and moving stairs. Then there's Horace's Detective Agency where guests can find the station of Horace's Detective Challenge. This will be a scavenger hunt like experience similar to Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. The experience is limited to Walt Disney Avenue and includes missions like finding Daisy's bow or a missing pig brother of the three little pigs. The last building will be home to the Walt Disney Avenue Emporium. This will be the biggest store of the park selling all kinds of Disney accessories and souvenirs. The Emporium will have a lot of window displays which will be similar to the Disneyland 60th window displays. The window displays will represent Aladdin, Frozen, Hercules, Princess and the Frog, the Little Mermaid, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Lion King, Peter Pan, Toy Story and Beauty and the Beast

I'm imaging a section that would either be located at Walt Disneyland Park or Disney's Kingdom of Stories that would have a land or big section dedicated to Disney films by decade such as a section dedicated to Disney Animated films from a decade. Such as a section mixed with Disney Animated films from the 1970's or 1980's featuring Oliver & Company,The Rescuers,The Aristocats, and Robin Hood. I don't know if this idea was ever though before though but would be very interesting to hear some ideas.

So here's a new area, which will make the hub a full land with attractions, dining options, shows and shops:

Gardens of Magic:
The hub in this park will be a great creative and interactive addition to the park, offering guests of all ages something to enjoy. This area will consist out of 7 magic gardens. This will be one of the biggest hubs and offering the most experiences compared to other Disney Magic Kingdoms. The area will be inspired by European gardens, forests and fields which would make up the perfect combination of a transitioning hub to the other themed lands. Imagine something inspired by Fantasia, Bambi's forests and other animated forests and landscapes like in Alice in Wonderland and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. There will be ponds, streams and even a lakeside on the Discoveryland side of the hub. The gardens which guests are able to explore are the Garden of Friends, the Garden of Imagination, the Garden of Symphonies, the Garden of Madness, the Garden of Peace, the Castle Garden and the Garden of Tales.

Great start you have so far. It's definitely different than your average Main Street. One complaint I have is that even though Carousel Of Progress matches Walt's visions, it really doesn't fit into the aesthetic of your land..

I wish I could draw and show my vision, because what I have in mind would fit. If you think Carousel of Progress would be surrounded by toony buildings, then its not completely clear. Also the Carousel of Progress building wouldn't be like we know it today . It would look like a main street facade which would turn with the theatre scenes. Similar to what the original Edison square was.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll tell the names of two hotels that could have a potential at Walt Disney Resort.
Disney's Pixar Playland Resort & Disney's New English Pier (or insert a name that shows that the resort represents New England here)Resort.
great ideas. I had some plans for a Pixar resort already

That makes a little more sense now you say the exterior would fit the land. Thanks for clarifying.

Adventureland:

DbM55adventure.jpg

The south west area of the park will be reserved for Adventureland. Over a wooden bridge with tribal decorations you will find this exotic island like atmosphere. Palm trees, animals and the sounds of beating drums immerse you into the story of Adventureland. Adventureland will have a connected backstory. S.E.A. explorer Betty Venture found this island. It was home to a new culture which had African, South American, Asian and Polynesian influences. Also she found many different new animal species. After she announced her discovery, many people, especially explorers, moved to the island she would later name Adventureland, after the many different adventures on the island itself. She built up a small fishers town called Adventure Springs with her mansion on top of a hill which had a view over the village. She called it Paradise Tops.
3ec4e8ecd4d5e8c1478b81cf1e9e3a0f.jpg
For many years great discoveries had been made on the island like diamonds inside a volcano, singing birds and flowers, curious animal species and a lost temple. This temple was created by the Adventureland natives. Here, they worshipped their Gods. One day, Betty found a ring in the temple. She was all over the news. The natives warned her not to keep it as it would anger the Gods, but she refused to believe them. After some time she and the ring just vanished and were never found again. The only thing that still exists is her legacy which is represented by a statue in the middle of Adventure Springs.
1d06203b972ac8bbae5038811e726440.jpg
The sounds, sights and smells of the area come to life as you pass the entrance to Adventureland. The first thing guests will find is Adventure Springs, which lies next to a river. The river surrounds a small island called Venture Isle. This island will be very similar to Tom Sawyer's island, Adventure Isle in Paris and the treehouse islands. There will be various activities for members of the whole family including climbing, cave exploration, hiking etc. On the island will also be audio animatronics of animals , Adventureland natives and other explorers. The island will be similar to the upcoming Camp Discovery at Shanghai Disneyland. Traverse challenging rope courses, hike scenic trails and dig for ancient relics as you explore Venture Isle. To get to the island, Betty opened the River Raft Boathouse where rafts give guests a small cruise over the river and end up at the island.
concepts001.jpg
Back to Adventure Springs. It is filled with small shops and dining options. Also some characters like Mickey and Minnie are here to meet guests. Around the Betty statue are small market stalls selling souvenirs and refreshments. Near the river is the Matarka Terrace, named after the legendary Matarka serpent which lives in the river as the Adventureland natives believe. Images of the Matarka and fishery objects can be found inside the restaurant. Outside on the terrace guests have a great view over the river. Wait.....did something just move over there in the water...? Also near the water is The Venture Queen, a quick service on Betty's deserted boat.
sea_serpent.jpg
Also in town is the Adventure Springs Department Store for Disney and Adventureland souvenirs and the S.E.A. Equipment Store where you can buy things to be ready for all your adventures in Adventureland. The Explorers' Club is a table service based on Betty's old meeting building where she and her fellow S.E.A. members came together and showcased their discoveries. Inside you can enjoy American, South American, Asian and African food while watching various objects, images etc. of all the explorers. The Curious Giraffe Tavern will be a quick service restaurant inside a safari like tavern. Guests can enjoy American and African dishes here. Last but not least, Little Pal's Artifacts will be a small shop owned by Betty's ex-assistent Terrence whose nickname was Little Pal. In and around Adventure Springs will be another interactive game called the Great Treasure Hunt where guests are send on missions to find different riches in different areas of Adventureland. It will be similar to the Pirates game in Adventureland at Walt Disney World Resort. Around the land are also audio animatronics of wildlife like giant butterflies. But not only wildlife will be great to see, the complete decor of the land will be impressive with small streams, waterfalls, rocks and more.
2f788f2e7fb5c4af29019e22cae2ca5f.jpg
Past many buildings you will end up at the entrance of Paradise Tops, Betty Venture's mansion. This is where Betty was seen for the last time after she found the ring inside the Lost Temple. Inside Paradise Tops will be an amazing e-ticket attraction where guests board a KUKA arm vehicle with new technology and try to escape Paradise Springs and release Betty from the ancient curse of the Gods of Adventureland. In the pre-show guests will enter a hall similar to the pre-show room of Mystic Manor where the story of the discovery of the ring will be told. Then the lights turn off and the ghost of Betty appears. She tells guests that they must leave otherwise the Gods will curse them too. Then thunder strikes and the Gods' voices can be heard warning the guests. The guests will have to find a way to return the ring to the gods, free Betty's ghost and escape Paradise Tops. The attraction will use screens, audio animatronics and projections for the ultimate experience.
vast-steamboat-gothic-early-victorian-mansion-crjryb.jpg

Outside Adventure Springs are multiple paths winding around Adventureland. One will lead to the Adventureland Train Station of the Walt Disney Steam Train Railroad. Then we move on. First guests will pass a massive volcano. This majestic mountain is known as Mount Atza Lucifego. Named after the treasures of the fire beast, Lucifego. Many explorers investigated the mountain and found out that the mountain was filled with diamonds. After some time, the volcano erupted and many explorers had to flee. Some explorers disappeared. Now its your mission to find the lost explorers and maybe even retrieve some diamonds. This attraction will be similar to Expedition Everest, but will also have similarities with Journey to the Center of the Earth. The experience however will be different than the existing attractions. Guests will encounter the fire beast, Lucifego, which is sort of similar to the lava monster in Journey to the Center of the Earth.

firemountain.jpg
Next is a small square near a camp called Adventureland Camp. This camp was set up by Betty and her fellow explorers to go on an adventure to a place called the Forgotten Valley. The mission was frozen after Betty's absence, but now explorers are picking up action. At the camp guests can explore interactive activities similar to the ones that can be found in Adventure Isle at Shanghai Disneyland and Jurassic Park at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Adventureland Camp Canteen will be a small quick service with American food options. The greatest adventure here however is boarding a raft in Voyage to the Forgotten Valley. This will be a river rapids ride where you will explore the Forgotten Valley and its' curious inhabitants. Guests will begin by boarding rafts and set off upriver to Adventureland Camp. Guests will pass under the mountains into the Forgotton Valley. Here they find that mysterious creatures and plants live in the valley. Some of these will be similar to the ones in Journey to the Center of the Earth and Adventure Isle at Shanghai Disneyland. After escaping some threats, the rafts will enter a whirlpool, then pass by volcanic vents, steaming geysers and escape tumbling trees.Oh and you will get wet!
i-f97bf4eb211f4b95dec11ae752cace48-steve%27s%20future.jpg
The last location will be quite near Adventure Springs. It will be the excavation site of the Lost Temple. Here, Betty found the cursed ring. The Lost Temple will host an attraction similar to Raging Spirits and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril. There will be more advanced scenes however where the Gods send the guests on a thrilling ride where they have to hold their hats. The experience starts already in the queue, which is very interactive. Guests have to pass through several rooms and hallways filled with boobytraps and hidden treasures, for example steps which activate knifes coming from the walls or a diamond calling out lost souls. Fire, projections, mist, audio animatronics, falling rocks and the coaster itself will be an amazing combination for thrillseekers. Near the attraction will be the Deep Jungle Shop which looks like a jeep with different souvenirs available.

As much as I love this part, one thing I have to point out is that Jungle Jeeps is really nothing more than Kilimanjaro Safari in the form of Jungle Cruises. And yes I know that this is supposed to be original like Shanghai Disneyland, and that it has Roaring Rapids instead of Jungle Cruise and that the spinner ride is themed to Winnie The Pooh instead of Alice In Wonderland, but Jungle Jeeps is obviously, like I said before, Kilimanjaro Safari in the form of Jungle Cruise.
yes it is and yes it isn't. Actually the ride will be a mix between Kilimanjaro Safaris, Jungle Cruise and Indiana Jones Adventure. There will be new action scenes as I already told you and the surroundings will be different than the normal Jungle Cruise theming.

Frontierland is making progress. In this post I just want to wish you all a happy 2016 and that there may be so many new creative ideas here on wdwmagic. Also this year I hope Disney has got a lot to offer for all of us( think of Shanghai Disneyland, Frozen Ever After, Zootopia and so on).

I have a question for all of you, what attractions, restaurants and shops would you like to see in Frontierland. I have some ideas already, but I'm not sure if it will work. I'd love to hear some original ideas( so no Grizzly River Run or whatever). I can't promise that the ideas will all be put in the land, but I will try to get as much of your ideas in the land. Up till now I have these rides: 1) Western River Expedition 2) Lewis and Clark Riverboat 3) Big Thunder Mountain Railroad/ Thunderhawk Hills( with a new Thunderbird story) 4) Geyser Mountain 5) Journey to the West( dark ride/shooter ride) 6) Keelboats 7) The Tall Tales of the West( An audio animatronic show where the stories and songs of the west will be sung and told) 8) Shooting Gallery

I think that's a substantial amount of attractions already. I would suggest not going too overboard to keep it relativity realistic. Still, great job with the resort you're doing.

I wasn't about to add rides, but replace one of mine with another one:) Thanks for the compliment. Oh and do you have any comments about Adventureland? I'd love to hear them if you do.

I think all your Froniterland attractions would be good ones. You have a good balance of family-friendly attractions and thrill rides.

As for Adventureland, it sounds spectacular but I would cut some attractions down. I feel like there's too much going on here, and by limiting the attraction count, you have a better overall land.

Which ones would you suggest removing from Adventureland? I was actually starting with a plan of Jungle Jeeps, Mount Atza Lucifego, Paradise Tops, Lost Temple, Moana and Forgotten Valley. Enchanted tiki room was first a restaurant in my mind and Venture Island, Adventureland Camp and the interactive game came during the process of writing. Maybe I should cut out Venture Isle together with the rafts because they don't add a lot to the land.
