There are a couple the one I'm most familiar with is if you leave property out through DownTown Disney, you get to a point where either you can't go straight or going straight would put you in a shopping complex. Make a right at the light and there is one a few miles up on your right.

So with Street names this time:

East Buena Vista Dr. Become Hotel Plaza Boulevard, make a right onto Route 535 and it's on your right maybe 4 or 5 miles down the road.

A new Wal-Mart just opened up on the corner of Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Road. From Downtown Disney head to the Crossroads/Apopka Vineland/535 and turn left, then right on Palm Parkway, which turns into Turkey Lake.

The 192/535 area WalMart is nearer the Downtown Disney side of property. If you are staying on the other side of property, or would like to deal with a little less traffic, there is a WalMart on Rt 27 at the end of 192. If you took Osceola Parkway towards Animal Kingdom Lodge, there's a light on Osceola Parkway before you enter Animal Kindgom Lodge. If you make a left at that light (it's called Sherberth Road) it hits 192. Make a right onto 192 (you'll be heading Westbound on 192). Follow for a couple of miles and 192 will end at Rt 27. Head North on Rt 27 and there is a huge Super WalMart - make a right at the first light. Also, there are two Publix stores on 192 between Disney property and Rt 27. If you just need some food, Publix does have reasonable prices. WalMart, of course, has everything from food to hoses to housewares to auto parts to baby clothes.

I find that the 535 area is waaaaaay too congested and annoying for me to be bothered with. I avoid that area at all costs.

My vote goes with Piglet's suggestion - the Walmart at 27 and 192 is your best option. Our house is on Rt. 27 and it only takes about 15 minutes to get to the Walmart from Disney property (provided you hit the lights at the right time). On the way there, you will pass a Publix. It depends on what you are trying to buy as to where to shop.

In addition, you can type the address of where you will be driving from (either a park or the hotel) into Mapquest. When the map pops up, you can then "find" anything nearby - like a Walmart.

Good luck and have a great time!

If it helps with your decision, the one closest to 192 and 535 is relatively new, very clean, and the times I've been there, not very busy (as many SuperCenters usually are).

Idf you go to the Winn Dixie website you can sign up for one of their saver club cards which allows you to buy items at sale prices. They will give you one even if you are not a Florida resident and there is a Winn Dixie near International Drive.

There are 14 Winn Dixiwes in the general Orlando area.

Last year I got 3 12 packs of soda for $100. The hotel we were staying at (this was before we began the Disney leg of our trip) sold cans for $1.50 each in their machines and we had a mini fridge. Quite the savings.

I also like Goodlings at the Crossroads Mall for a quick pick up, but have found them to be much more expensive than any other grocery store in the area.

Gooding is quite possibly the most expensive supermarket I've ever been too. But it is good in a pinch. When we were down in Jan my nieces bday was the day we got there so I was able to go over and pick up a really cute Little Mermaid cake. Of course I paid $22 dollars for an 8 inch cake but what the heck we were in Dis. I have also got good deals on packs of water at the Eckerd down the street to the left if leaving Disney property.

Really?!?!? Did you mean 3, 12 packs for $10.00? I can't imagine how much you must like soda to spend $100 for 36 cans!! :p (I just wanted to make sure that's right. I know prices can be a bit inflated down there, but WOW!!!)
Yep...lol....darned keyboard...and even darnderlack of typing/proofreading skills!

Hey, but I did buy a pound of baby carrots at Goodings for $3 (I have some weird carrot thing going on..they are all I snack on)....Here in NJ I could get 3 pounds for that last year (this year is a different story with inflation). I have noticed that Goodings is more expensive for most items.

I hear that. We usually have 5 or 6 of us in a van that is overflowing with coolers of food and drinks and now that we found the Walmart and that down there last trip, we will be doing the same thing. Just bring enough for the 22 hour drive down and stock up when we get down there after checking into the Pop Century.
