:(

A few months ago, I ordered the CD set put out for Disneyland's 50th, with a recording of a full show from the Golden Horseshoe Saloon. Wally's bits hold up well over the decades. It's a marvelous performance to listen to even today. Sad news.

Here's a clip of Wally in his prime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-YfnKA476o RIP Mr. Boag. You will always be a Disney Legend.:lol:

That's one of my favorite Wonderful World of Color episodes!

Such sad news about Wally Boag passing, but he lived a very long and very full life bringing so many smiles to people at Disneyland. Every time I am in the Golden Horseshoe Saloon at Disneyland I marvel that so many greats performed there over the years with Walt looking on from his private box next to the stage, and Wally Boag was a great among greats.

Did Wally Boag ever perform at Disney World? Maybe he went out and helped open the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon when it opened in '71 for a bit? Anyone know if he ever performed at WDW, or was he strictly a Disneylander?

Legitimately one of my entertainment world heroes.

I had always hoped to meet him. Thankfully he has left us with all of his talents recorded. A true top entertainer.

If you think Disneyland is cool, wait till you see what Walt built in Heaven. I hope Wally's a part of it because he'll certainly be missed here. Great contributions =)

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
:( I'm pretty sure he'll enjoy visiting Walt's new Disney World/land in heaven, along with Roy.:)

He did exactly that. From his website:

At Disneyland, Wally also provided the voice of the Audio-Animatronics parrot, Jose, in the Enchanted Tiki Room, and later, opened the Diamond Horseshoe Revue at Walt Disney World, in 1971.

Wow, I was just watching the old Disneyland episode of the horseshoe review. I was amazed by how well the act holds up today. BUt of course, that's no good excuse for the executives.

Anyways, he will be missed.

What a terrible loss. Another one of the folks who actually worked for Walt Disney himself has passed on.

I'm grateful he got his memories down in print before he passed, and that some of his performances were recorded and are easily available.

I bet he's impressing everyone in Heaven right now with his Boagaloons. :)

Was hoping that when they re-opened the Tiki Room in WDW that they would have him there to re-open it with a little ceremony.

He is a true legend. What a great performer. Someone like him can not really ever be replaced. Will miss you greatly Wally

I always wish I would have had the chance to see him perform at the Golden Horseshoe. I was born a generation too late for that. He was a marvelous performer. May he rest in peace....I'm sure he's still crackin' jokes wherever he is now!

There is an audio track of the Golden Horseshoe Revue with Wally Boag on this site:

You just need to find it, sometimes need to reload the page as there's tons of songs on it and not always does it load all of them.
