Walls down - Fantasyland soft opening status

Yep absolutely true and well said. The fact is, testing is not done for guest convenience, it is done for operational reasons. This means that it is completely up to them when and what is done, and they will only do it if it helps the project.
In the past when soft openings have started, have they then pulled them until the announced opening dates? Not sure if there is any history that would show soft openings continue till announced opening, or if history shows it is possible to just stop soft openings after offering them for x period of time???

Expect Soft Openings to be very limited and short. If they are indeed opening it earlier than announced they will immediately have to stop beginning on the 22nd because that is when CM previews begin and last until AP and D23 previews begin.
Do you think soft openings for the regular guests will stop all together once CM previews start? Or are CM previews for certain time frames and regular guest previews could continue after/before said time frames? What does history show about soft openings starting well before an announced opening and then stopping shortly after?

Cast Member previews are in two hour time frames during regular operating hours. It doesn't seem like there is any break in it that would allow regular guests during that time frame.

Do you know if they are every day starting October 20th (or whenever)?

From someone who arrives in 7 days, it seems odd that Disney would open up for soft openings now, and then shut it down after x amount of time, and not run them until the announced opening dates for regular guests. We were already disappointed that we missed the announced previews by a few weeks, and then to have it opened the week BEFORE we are there, and then closed to previews while we are there, seems like it would be salt in the wound. Just a thought.

It is the Monday through Friday the 22nd through November 2nd. After that begins AP and D23 previews. Just wondering how many people are in your party and when are you going I might have some pixie dust to work for you.

We have 4 adults, 2 kids (girls, 3 and 9) and a 4 month old baby. We are going Saturday-Saturday October 20-27, so there may be a good shot of missing a CM preview, but catching a normal people preview. Pixie dust is always cool too. :)

Ugh well it looks like my pixie dust won't work but I'll ask around to my MK friends and see if they think previews will happen for regular guests. I wouldn't be surprised if the weekends you were able to get into a guest preview since it appears CM previews are only during the week.

Is there any word yet what the CM previews for BoG entail? Is is supposed to be only walk-thrus as the AP previews have been described? I know 11/19 is labeled as the start of GP Previews and 12/6 is the "official" opening but the reservations are booked starting from the 19th. Seems odd that they would go live with a full restaurant without doing trial runs first.

It isn't very clear what BOG offering will be for CMs. Some have rumored that there will be some test runs the second week of CM previews but besides that nothing is set in stone.

Thanks anyway. In theory, in a perfect world, the first day of soft opening (Friday the 12th for argument sake) may be 'hit or miss' but then 2 more days of regular peoples previews start, and then 5 days of cast member previews for all regular park hours. Again, in a perfect world, this may mean the 20th and 21st would be more 'solid' previews for the area, right? Hypothetical, and in a perfect world.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot CM previews started the 22nd. So the edit is if soft openings started this week, and ran 'sporadically' for the next 5 days, the 20th and 21st in a perfect world would see more solid openings.

This is making me sooooo excited. We will be there from October 26th-November 1st and I was keeping my fingers crossed that there would be a soft opening or a preview of some sort, even it it was just that the walls were down in the Enchanted Forest and that we could walk through the area. We will be in MK the entire day on Friday and Saturday so here's hoping!!!

I've heard rumour here in park I can't substantiate. Seems too good to believe. But full height walls arent replaced by false shrubs on wheels so soon for no reason.

Is that the rumor of the secret, all-underground E-Ticket Villians Coaster that they've been building
behind Gaston's, that's secretly ready to open any day now? You know, the one that you can't even
see in the aerials? 'Cause, that would be so cool.
