Walking, walking, walking

Our trip is coming up in late Nov. How far in advance should we start 'training' for all the walking we'll be doing while at WDW? We don't currently walk for exercise on a regular basis. Also, any suggestions on building up stamina to be able to walk those long distances for several days in a row?

Thanks!

It's not the walking I have a problem with. It's the standing around that bothers me. Stand in this line, stand in that line, stand for this parade, stand for that fireworks show. It's all the standing, standing, standing!!!!:hammer:

That is very true. The walking is not too bad for me. Standing around hurts the heels of my feet from the way I stand.

i have to agree, its the standing that gets to me. when im still, my feet start hurting when im walking, i dont feel a thing. also, i bought a pair of shoes from the all star movies resort store (the white sneakers with the blue mickey on the side) because the sneakers i had were hurting my feet. so when i go to WDW now i wear those sneakers every time, i bought them ahalf size too big and i put arch support in them, and my feet dont bother me at all! it was worth the $22 for the sneakers and the $6 for the arch support to have pain free feet!

We will be going down in September and I began my walking on June 5th. I am using the walk away the pounds DVD's. I was not into a walking routine either. I started with the one mile and I am now walking the 4 mile about 3 to 4 times a week. This is also private and I don't have to leave my house to do it. You should try the DVD's I think that they are great. I purchased mine through QVC.
