Is there a walking path from Epcot to HS? If so, where does it start/end? We are leaving on Monday and staying at the Poly. With the "rumor" of less busses running would it be a good idea to walk from HS to Epcot and then take the monorail to the Poly. I'm thinking this may be a good idea eespecially after Fantasmic? What do you all think? Thanks

The Disney 10K that they have in October goes from EPCOT to Hollywood Studios and from what I remember there is a sidewalk between the two. The only thing is that we went out a back entrance (not the Boardwalk one) behind some buildings so I'm not 100% that it's all connected, but I'm pretty sure.

Yes it's possible to get from Epcot to HS by foot, or also by boat, through the International Gateway exit in World Showcase. But don't plan on a quick park hop -- the boats make stops at the Epcot resorts, and you might have to transfer depending the way they have it set up now. The walkway to HS is just past the Boardwalk Resort. It's been there for some time, but a few years ago was upgraded to a proper walkway with lights and railings along the banks of the canal. The entire walk, from the Epcot rear-exit to the HS entrance, is just over a mile.

No transfer necessary if traveling by boat...the boat stops are as follows:

-Hollywood Studios
-Swan/Dolphin
-Boardwalk
-Beach/Yacht Club
-Epcot

it goes the opposite but exact order coming from Epcot. The reason there are 2 seperate stops at each of the resorts is because you can catch a boat going either way...but you don't have to transfer if you get onboard at Hollywood Studios. Though the skipper usually says that it would be quicker to get out and walk once they dock at the Swan.

and yes...if you exit Hollywood Studios and walk straight out the gates...walk around the farside of the lake and follow the sidewalk up past the Boardwalk to the Swan/Dolphin...take a right, then follow the lagoon around to the International Gateway at Epcot...then head for the front gate to get to the monorail station.

It will probably take you about a half hour atleast...esp if Fantasmic is getting out during or near IllumiNations... also..they stop running the monorail while IllumiNations is running since the monorail goes through Epcot rather close to the fireworks...so after that halfhour walk..you have another 15 minutes on the monorail if it's running...

you're probably better off taking a bus after Fantasmic.

You go out International Gateway (by United Kingdom) and head over to Boardwalk. The walkway is right behind BW straight to DHS. If's a nice walk. Paths are lit and paved. Also gives you a chance to stop at the Bakery or ice cream place on the boardwalk!:) If you change your mind and decide not to walk you can pick up the boat at the Swan & Dolpin or BW.

It is a very nice walk..if it isn't too hot. It is a little on the long side and once you start there aren't any options but to continue with it. So just make sure you are up for it when you begin.

It's a very nice walk if you're going from DHS to Epcot and vice-versa. But if you're going to walk from DHS to Epcot, walk through Epcot, and then rides two monorails, I would strongly oppose it. That's a LONG walk to do after a day at the parks! Just take the bus. It probably will be faster and save you a couple miles of walking.

I've said this before but if you are taking someone to DHS for the first time (or you are a first time visitor) I HIGHLY recommend walking to DHS at night from the Boardwalk area. It would be best to go during extended magic hours to make sure you approach the park when the sun is down. It's like stumbling upon a lost Amusement Park of days gone by and it feels very secluded and it is amazingly beautiful as you approach the gates. Truly one of those great experiences you can only have at WDW. It would be even better if the people you are taking have no idea they are going to a park. Magical.
