Wait Times

Hi,
I'm heading to U.S.O. at the end of May, 1st of June. I expect to be there on a Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday. How are the line waits for most attractions? Are they long but constantly moving? Should I expect line wait time signs to be accurate? What constitutes a "long wait" at USO.
Thanks! :)

I'm going to be there the exact same days.

Okay, for this time it's not going to be TOO bad but it pretty much is the start of Summer. Your honest best bet (and everyone is probably tired of hearing it but it's true) is to get there at park opening. If you do, you can pretty much hit the park in order (starting with Jimmy Neutron and Shrek 4D) with no wait.

Still, without Express, I'd head to Jimmy Neutron: Nicktoon Blast at opening. It's a cute ride but not worth the longer waits later in the day. Then head to Revenge of the Mummy and ride that a few times (early in the morning, I've been able to get on more than 3 times with no wait). You might want to head to MIB early too since that's a ride many like to repeat. Then when it starts getting more crowded, you can do attractions with higher capacities like Twister, Earthquake, Terminator, the shows, etc.

Waits can get up to 75-90 minutes for some rides at Universal but will go up or down randomly. There's electronic wait time boards that will update you on the current waits.

Have fun.

I'm taking the family to Universal tomorrow for the first time. My wait times at Disney have been 20 minutes or less for darn near everything. If we have to wait 75 to 90 minutes for a ride, it'll be our last trip to Universal.

It's nice that Disney doesn't try to bang you for an extra forty bucks for their Fast Pass system. I haven't even been to Universal and I'm already cynical.

Universal is second banana in Orlando. They should try to price themselves to encourage repeat business, not try to milk every last penny out of you. I'm planning on starting with Universal Studios tomorrow and Islands of Adventure the next. If I am unhappy the first day, there will not be a second, I'll simply go back to Disney.

Wow, it sounds like it's an awesome fun time to visit the parks with you!

Shrug, Universal has free fast pass too. You just have an option to buy passes for every ride at one time.

Eh, I made the same mistake too eikni. And it was brought to my attention that Uni dropped the free Universal Express options. All the kiosks set up in the parks like Fastpass are gone. Now to get Uni Express you either pay for it, or stay at a Uni hotel
