Wait times do reflect attendance

I remember when I would travel solo around this time of year back in 2004, 05, 06 and Pirates was a walk on or 5 min wait. BTTMRR used to be about 10-15 min. I cant believe how much it has changed.
Pirates is still a walk on or 5 minute wait A LOT of the time. Disney is crowded, but I can't tell you how many times I've walked on Pirates during a parade, during fireworks, or even just an hour before closing. I just did it a couple months ago.

People make too much out of one observation. One thing I've learned in going almost 100 times...the wait times and days are variable depending on day, time, and special events.

No, you could just do a class action suit for selling annual passes that have no block out dates (but effectively do with all these after hours/parties) as well as the short staff switch. Of course Disneys army of lawyers will be tough to beat but a class action suit might entice a all star lawyer to make it worth his time to take on Disney.
I think when we used to have annual passes I remember specific language about them not being good for parties... Don't think you would have much luck on that one.

My hope for someone going after them for them under RICO is that if you get some momentum and the can get the fed involved that a RICO case has provisions to freeze all the defendants assets until the trial is concluded. It is a huge stick that has been used to actually put a business out of business. Just requires the right political climate with an administration that has a bone to pick with Disney and it could happen.

No, this wouldn’t be possible. Even if Disney was not using their “all star lawyers”.. they would still win if a front line CM represented them.

Don’t hold your breath.

I'm sorry but this notion of 'RICO' sounds absurd at face value. I fail to see criminal intent nor a pattern of such criminal intent. Furthermore, if lightening struck and a complainant (s) had sufficient grounds for such an action there is no way a US judge would sit back and allow some lawyer team in the civil arena to effectively shut down Disney's operations or to buy and sell off assets-- such a motion would be denied fast! No way would that happen based on inaccurate posted attraction wait times. And you can forget about the prospects of the Justice Dept deploying some US attorney foot soldier to file such a criminal complaint. Disney could see civil sanctions in the form of fines and that's about it. But don't count on that either.

Using RICO for anything other than going after the mafia always sounded absurd, but that hasn't stopped the justice department from using it as a big stick to go after businesses that have upset someone in power. The irony is that today it is much more likely to see RICO used against a business than it is against organized crime like the mafia. Any white color defense attorney will tell you its become a big stick that the government is more and more likely to use against regular business to force quick settlements and guilty pleas.

Not when you've observed the same thing. with over 40 trips I've noticed a huge increase in wait times over the last 3-4 years

Still depends on time of year you go and time of day. You're saying you can never walk on Pirates? I do it all the time.
My point was about you saying people make too much out of one observation. If more than one person sees the same thing, it's not one observation. Last 2 time I was in MK it was over an hour, but then near the end of the christmas party it was about 10 minutes but they only had 1 side open

More insanity: This week Space Mountain was half closed. Meaning one whole track wasn’t in use and a very definitive “running at half capacity”.

Here is something worse; two days ago I had a Fastpass for ToT. My app said the ride was down all day so I stayed away. I waited for the replacement FP email to come - it didn’t. So I went over there. The standby wait time clock was off. There were a couple of CMs at the entrance. I approached and expected to be told it’s down. It wasnt! They invited me in. I asked what was going on. They told me they were short staffed and only half the tower elevators were operational. This resulted in a two hour plus line up and they didn’t want to attract more people. The fast pass line up was 45 mins. This was two hour before park closing. @marni1971 is this going to be the new norm for staffing levels?

Talk about giving the guest the shaft!!!
(Yes, I strategically used "shaft" here)

RSD Part Deux, as for your #73
I'm waiting for these WDW loyalists, defenders or Sunshine Disney Disciples to trivialize this lastest report.

So guests are paying approx $110 for that kind of service?? !!!!!! Some operations mgr needs to go
Ya, like an approaching 30 year old park with effectively 3....THREE....rides going is the way to treat customers. No thanks--- I will just head over to Tokyo where the good stuff is.
