My boyfriend loves Waffle House, and since we don't have them here in Michigan, I figured we could hit one up in Orlando when we're down at WDW. The only thing is, I can't remember where the closest one is. Something makes me think there is one on Vineland near Crossroads, but I'm not sure and the website was no help. Thanks!

Those...and one on N. John Young Parkway. :D (Sounds like Waffle House is like Walgreen's down there...if you drive past one, just keep going around the corner to the next one.)

LOL. When I was a kid we always drove to FLA, 24 or more house stright on I75. We used to keep awake by counting the waffle houses on the way. :slurp: We would aruge over the number (80, no 83) You would always fall asleep and miss some.(not while drying I hope!)
Who knows how many there are now, 114? 240? Your guess is as good as mine. I fly only now a days.

Now my fast food I like to get that I can't here in Michigan is Chick-fil-a. It ain't a vacation with out Chick-fil-a. (but they aren't open on Sundays, we always seem to travle on Sundays!) Eat more Chicken!

Oh, man, I miss Waffle House... During my CP, we used to go to the one by Crossroads all the time. But now that I'm back in CA, there's none around. :(

Oh my gosh this whole post is like our life and travels to Disney. We live in Illinois and when we used to drive straight through with friends we did exactly the same thing--counted Waffle Houses to stay awake. We often had three cars all driving together and would have CBs. All night long you'd hear "Waffle House on the right" or "Waffle House on the left." There's an exit (somewhere in Tennessee I think) that has one on the right and one on the left at the same exit.

We're also the same way with Chick-Fil-A--love 'em, and always seem to find them on Sundays!

Was I in the same caravan with you? :lookaroun We did the same thing! It would be all quiet and then you would here, "Waffle house on the right". I totally remember the exit where there was 2. The funny thing is we never stopped at one (I think maybe once when my brother was driving, but it was late and someone had to use the bathroom.) The northern migration to Florida donw I75, got to love it. One year a huge group of my brothers friends all drove down to FLA for a wedding. One girl started playing Trival Pursit over the C.B. (1983) My dad about died!

Ok, next trip I am stopping at a waffle house to (well maybe in May when we go to Vero Beach, we might not have a car in March.)

Cool, I thought so... now the only question is:

How in the heck are we going to get there with no car?! LOL, I guess I forgot about that.

I'm starting to wonder myself if we were in the same caravans. We never actually stopped to eat at one either. I don't think we ever did the Trivial Pursuit thing, but we had other guessing games we'd play. Once we even had a random trucker chime in and guess. It was hysterical. The fun people miss when they fly--of course, they do get an extra day or two in Florida instead.

But then again I don't miss driving all that much, with 2 kids now. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Infact my very 1st trip to WDW that is what I remember the most, being in the car so excited and asking if we were there yet. (I was 3 years old). I also remember my older brothers swinging me around by their pinky fingers, no metal stroller for me. Too many people willing to hold me.

We always marvel the day we get there, "Just think we were in Detroit this morning!" Then when we get home, we were at WDW just yesterday! :hammer: " Oh well.

I am starting to think I missed something by not stopping at the waffle house. I saw a travel channel show on road side dinners, or was it 24 hour places. They did waffle house. Did you know you can't get pancakes there? I didn't.

Who needs to wait for kids, that's what my husband says the whole way down now. :)

Not to date myself but we used to count the see rock city signs and the stuckeys on the way to florida from Illinois when I was a kid.Now my kids count the Waffle houses We would never eat there but fun to count. We have had Chick-fil-a here in Illinois for several years and the quality has dropped a lot so no one goes there anymore. My kids miss a lot of signs with me driving non stop to Florida 1200 miles in 19 hours.Last time I drove I got to meet a Tennessee police officer at two in the morning, that will wake you up.

There's a Waffle House 10 minutes from my house, and a Chick-fil-a 15 minutes from my house. :slurp:

Florida is so great. Plus, it never drops below 70 degrees.

That is the life. What am I doing in Michigan?

I don't know about never dropping below 70, I have been there a number of times in were the highs were low 50's and that seems cold enough for me. (every day is high low 40's here and lows in 30's at night lately.)
