Okay, think I might be paranoid here, but due to the fact that I am incurably curious I did a search for TOT posters to see what careship might be talking about.

I came across the new "I survived" poster, and from what I can find this is the only new one out there. When I compared it to the entries in this thread, I see that mine might be considered to resemble it. Again sorry if this is just paranoia, but I wanted to defend my honor just in case.

If it is mine in question, I swear on God, my first born child, Walt himself even, that I did not copy this in anyway. I started completely from scratch having not ever seen an official TOT poster in my life that I am aware of. I have been to MGM for only 2 hours, and that was to see Fantasmic.

I searched for photos of the tower, found an angle I liked and then went from there. It took me 8 hours and many layers and filters to acheive the look I wanted and other than using photos found elsewhere, which I am sure many people did, I did not plagerize anything.

I wanted to enter this contest because I have been teaching myself photoshop over the past year, and have had little opportunity to use what I learned. The way my entery came out is purly a result of my just letting things flow in photoshop. There were many other layouts along the way but my official entry was just the one that I thought worked the best.

I am really sorry if anyone thought I was cheating, and embarrassed if this is just paranoia.

you are being paranoid. it wasn't you. The one I am talking about bears a resemblance to that though. It also looks exactly like an old button (pin) trying to find that picture online as I saw it before. I will try to find it and post it so that the person I question is brought to light. You did a good job on yours, it's ok.

WOW!!!!

I actually got 6 votes, WOO HOO!!! The last contest I entered I only got like 2 (Splash wallpaper). I am shocked I got that many, especially against entries like Wilson and Leaf44 (you guys rock).

So anyways, thanks for everyone who voted in this contest. And not just those who voted for me. I can't wait to see who wins.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. But exactly WHAT do we want to limit it to or define plagerism? There are very few of us who have their own archives of disney photos, and that kinda gives us an unfair advantage over other people.

I guess you'll have to provide us with photos. :lol: Actually, that's not a bad idea. Let's say we do a wallpaper, for instance, but we have to all use the same picture. We can alter it anyway we want, change colors, cut things out, move stuff around, but the only thing you could add would be your text. That would be interesting donchathink?

I would just have to say that if a rule like this were enacted, it would deal with, and stop the submission of, entries that either look like, or are based upon, official Disney promotional/artistic material (attraction concept art, etc.) or graphics readily found on the Internet (including unoffical Disney websites, etc.) that are not necessarily Disney-made material but have a unique design that might necessarily lend itself to either an attraction poster contest entry or a wallpaper contest entry.

I think that would drive down the amount of people who enter the contest, as well as takng out some of teh creativity and fun out of it. It might nbe interesting to try ONCE but i wouldnt want to do it on a regular basis.

I like Ben's suggestion a bit better. Personally i think that Zac & Dan would be the ones who decide if something looks a little too much like a piece of already existing disneyana
