Visiting Guest Relations?

In the numerous trips to the parks i have taken since 1994, I have never visited guest relations. I have always observed that magic kingdom guest relations is packed (city hall). Silly question, but why do people visit guest relations? What types of things do you visit for?

I've gone there to pick up packages if I've bought something I don't want to lug around the park. Especially when I'm leaving the next morning and wouldn't be able to get it delivered to my resort in a timely manner.

I believeit's great place for a lot of "special guests" to ask when the three o'clock parade is...

We've used it for several reasons.

Picking up items bought in the park as we leave so we don't have to carry them around all day, very useful.

To collect the old GAC (Guest Assistance Card)

To leave a written compliment about a cast member who'd gone out of their way to assist us

This last month to collect a $50 Disney voucher after a problem last year where a phone call to Disney resulted in them giving me a number to quote to collect the voucher as compensation for the problems we had

I only used it once and that was to make a reservation, 2 hours ahead of time, to have dinner in the Mexican Pavilion for my daughters birthday. They took care of that and even had a cake for her that I didn't ask for, but, was very happy they gave us. They also gave me a Birthday patch for her to wear. When we went into the American Adventure one of the CM's told her she had a phone call. It was Goofy wishing her a happy birthday. She was in her late 30's at the time and embarrassed beyond belief, but, deep down I think she was pleased about it.

I know that the Guest Relations in Epcot has (or at least had) a pin book that traders might want to look at. One night we went in to look at it and it was pretty big and had a lot to choose from. So maybe other parks have pin books at their Guest Relations desks.

I visited guest relations in HS. I had added an extra day to my ticket a couple of weeks before we left. (this was before the magic bands). For some reason it did not show up on our last day when we were trying to get into HS. I went to GR and explained the situation. The man at the counter said there was no update associated with my ticket. However he gave me free passes to enter HS. But I wanted to visit other parks that day. I went back to our resort and pulled out my receipt that had the update on it. took it to the front desk and they gave me a new ticket with the extra day on it.

I have also visited to leave compliments for outstanding Cast efforts.
The managers I have talked with are always so relieved when they realize I am not coming in late at night to give them a hard time...but to actually say nice things.
You can see the relief in their eyes.

It is worth visiting the EPCOT Guest Relations next to Spaceship Earth just to check out the framed photos on the walls inside.

On our last trip we went to Guest Relations at MK twice. Once to compliment the Photo Pass Photographer who was working at the front of the train station. The second time was after Wishes when my nephew left his backpack in the hub after the fireworks. They didn't have any report of the backpack being turned in. However, they suggested that we call lost and found at the TTC the next day. We called, and it was there!! Crisis averted!!

I went to Ohana on my birthday in 2013. I purposefully did not add it to my reservation because I dine alone and did not want the attention. Low and behold, I got a cupcake with happy birthday and card from Mickey before I left. My server and his big mouth lol. I loved it.

I've had to use it for ticket issues. Once my MagicBand wasn't accepted, and I had to get my pin reset. Another time I couldn't get the AP that I wanted from the ticket booths, and had to go to Guest Relations to get it.

I often wonder. There is a sign outside TTC and I think Epcot that says "rooms available." And a number to call, if someone is leaving MK at midnight and they call that number, will they actually get an answer to book a room?

I've visited guest relations multiple times to write up compliments about CM's that did something exceptional that added to our day in the park. Hopefully I've helped someone get recognition or added to their chance for advancement for doing a great job.
I've visited with DW to get her disability access card. And pick up various guest pins.
I'm a fortunate one who has never had to enter to have a problem fixed or complain about something negative.

Like a bonehead I LOST my purse when I was at Magic Kingdom back in July. Left it sitting on a stone wall. Didn't realize it for 30 minutes until I went in my backpack to get it and it was gone. Retracted my steps and couldn't figure out where I lost it. They told me to check City Hall guest relations and they had it. I just had to identify it!!

May very well be...try it...let me know what you get...or better yet...find out what that number is and post it...I'll call it!

Last March, first day in the Magic Kingdom. It was already a long day, airline issues, and when I looked for my Amex card to pay for lunch ... no gots. I could have lost it anywhere, what are the chances I lost it at the Magic Kingdom And someone already turned it in. Thank you to the good samaritan who found it and it was why I visited Guest Relations. I think it's where I picked up my Will Call tickets at Animal Kingdom, too.

Been there to upgrade my tickets to an AP and when I had a magic band issue once. Feel like every time I've been in one of them though, someone is flipping out at the very least.
