All your criticisms are super valid. It would have been a much stronger project had we just focused on three or four things. At a certain point the communication got so jumbled that I just kind of threw my hands up and resigned to just do a passion project, continuity be dammed.

Lol I wasn't thinking about the gross out humor in the context of a dinner show. That's honestly a great point. That kind of stuff would throw me right the hell off if I was eating there. 🤣

I honestly don't even know where the idea of doing an American Idol parody came from beyond just needing some kind of framing device. To my own comedic sensibilities the concept is SOOO out dated that it loops back around to being ironically funny, but I could totally see how it would just be tired for most people.

Step back in time for a nostalgic throwback to a very different turn of the century from the one seen on Main Street. Welcome to the world of the early 2000s!

This special After Hours event takes over the studio park on weekends in March for a fun filled party focused on early 2000s Disney (primarily Disney Channel though with a few films that were featured heavily on the channel helping to define the era). Featuring special entertainment, dining options, simple attraction enhancements, and best of all... meet and greets!

Like, Zedus Lapeedus! Click the totally macro emoticon already so we can get this started because it is soooo major!

Once again, good work teams. We’re halfway through the speed rounds and a majority of the way through the game. I’ll be doing reviews of all three speed rounds posted so far likely tomorrow though no eliminations yet, fear not. That said, it is time for the next prompt and a guilty pleasure of mine.

Challenge Eight: Beastly Kingdomme

This may come as a surprise to many of you, but I quite like animals. Luckily, there’s no shortage of animal-centric theme parks from Animal Kingdom to SeaWorld to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and HersheyPark, zoo and aquarium elements are found at a lot of parks around the world.

Prompt: Design a new animal-centric element for a theme park of your choice

This could be a new trail for Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom, a new show with trained birds, a Nemo aquarium for Tokyo, bring the petting zoo back to Disneyland, or whatever your heart desires.

Due to the nature of this prompt being basically my thing in a nutshell, I will be here to help answer questions you may have involving ethics, proper husbandry, etc. but I will not be commenting on your actual plans beyond what you ask of me.

Note: I will be in Atlanta for most of next week visiting the aquarium and the zoo as well as picking up a new fennec fox, so if I miss a message, please repeat it or harass me to make sure I answer.

This project is due Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:59 PM PST (2:59 AM EST, 1:59 AM CST, 3:59 PM PT)

Coming to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for the 2026 season, Wings of Wonder is a bird-centric all encompassing collection of animal exhibits that promises to be the biggest addition to the park's roster of wildlife experiences in its long history. The park has partnered with Bay Area-based wildlife conservation preserve Safari West to get a brand new collection of birds added to the roster of animals.

*note, Crocodile Isle should be listed as Alligator Isle, Exotic Bird Encounters should be listed as the Safari West Sanctuary

Wings of Wonder will group together various bird themed animal experiences into one large overall attraction that promises to breath new life into a corner of the park that's long since been a bit neglected as well as serve as a smooth transition point to the other animal areas located in the very back of the park. The first exhibit guests come across is the only one that doesn't actually feature wildlife, which is a strategic bit of place making to serve as a transition away from the large scale Kong and Medusa coasters that border the foot path this exhibit will be occupying.

Did you know that modern birds come from dinosaurs?

If not, this new exhibit is perfect for you! As part of Wings of Wonder, a new child friendly hands on learning experience is added. Here, guests can explore a mini-exhibit all about the evolution of some Jurassic animals that survived and how you may see them still to this day (and ever some of them very shortly)!
1756935963177-jpeg.881116

This new exhibit goes over the complete evolution from some prior dinosaurs that seemingly have no connection to birds, into dinosaurs like Archaeolteryx that share the same biological class of Aves (although may not be a direct evolution chain), and more. Because archeologists and researchers are still learning about these connections now, there are open places along this exhibit with screens to showcase the latest advances in knowledge about these impressive evolutionary processes.

Guests can try and line up the wings in the picture above to the right animal (in a randomized order) to then have the correct ecological order show at the end to see how wings have truly changed over time.

Towards the end of the exhibit, it explains the similarities between other animals that can be seem now and dinosaurs: Alligators. While not direct descendants, they are both archosaurs that share a common ancestor, leaving them revelation adjacent.

While it may not seem like it, lots can be learned about evolution, and the past, through some of these incredible animals, which guests have the ability to see first hand as they walk through the rest of Wings of Wonder!

The next exhibit guests come across will be taking over the former, long abandoned 3D theater. It's a large scale, two story aviary featuring a large variety of parrots, parakeets, passerine birds, and exotic pigeons. It also serves as loving homage to the park's history since you can still see the remnants of the old, much smaller scale aviary in Tava's Jungleland which existed when that children's area used to be called Gentle Jungle.

For a small upcharge guests can purchase a cup of nectar which will be sure to draw birds directly to them for feeding. The bottom level features the feedings and more in your face animal encounters while the top half is divided by glass from the rest of the exhibit but offers guests a literal birds eye view of the area for those who might be intimidated by the possibility of a bird landing right on their shoulder. Either way the aviary serves as an ambitious centerpiece to Wings of Wonder.

Taking the place of the former Johnny Rocket's as well as the long abandoned footprint for the Tasmanian Devil flat ride is the Safari West Sanctuary. This is a highly landscaped Boardwalk which features up close encounters with a variety of exotic birds. The park's resident hornbill and bald eagle will both be relocated to permanent large scale enclosures and will serve as two of the star attractions. Other birds along the boardwalk are exotic raptors, macaws, and hawks. All these birds are rescue animals who have lost their ability to fly.

Guests can get an up close and personal look at how the park and its animal caretakers strive to make a comfortable life for these awe inspiring animals. This area of Wings of Wonder is the heart of the conservation efforts of the Safari West partnership and also features some of the most rare and exciting animal encounters in the whole park.

The park's long abandoned bird theater will finally be getting a new permanent show. The titular "Wings of Wonder" show will be a great showcase for many of the park's most popular birds, including its famous bald eagle and hornbill. Bats will also be featured here as well as a live audience fly over from a hawk. Also featured here will be an alligator feeding demonstration which ties into the dinosaur themes of the area's first exhibit as well as the neighboring expanded Alligator Isle.

The cast of birds rotates depending on various factors such as mood, health conditions, and weather. The show will strive to not put any birds in the spotlight that aren't up for it, and the rotating lineup means it's almost always not exactly the same show twice. The Wings of Wonder show should make for a very engaging new piece of animal entertainment for the park and truly ties all the themes of the area together.

While the avian life at Discovery Kingdom is the main focus of this revamp, it would be a disservice to renovate this area without acknowledging Alligator Isle, one of the park’s most neglected and underdeveloped attractions, animal or otherwise. While there’s nothing technically wrong with the current state of Alligator Isle, anybody passing through the “attraction” could immediately tell you what’s ACTUALLY wrong with it.

The area is pitifully small, meeting the necessities of housing gators (as well as snapping turtles) by providing an acceptable amount of land and water, without offering anything in the way of enrichment, making for a subpar experience for both the animals and guests of the park.

While Alligator Isle won’t be getting completely overhauled, it will be undergoing a few major changes that’ll help bring it up to snuff with the rest of the park’s current and upcoming animal exhibits. The most notable upgrade is in size. The Scat About and Ark flat rides as well as the park's Vekoma Boomerang will be demolished to make as much free space as possible, only broken up by the walking path that allows guests to get a good look at the creatures, creating a more open environment for the held animals, while also substantiating the experience for guests. The removal of the rides is right in line with the overall conservation mission statement of Wings of Wonder and will serve as a far more comfortable and natural habitat for the gators.

The second major addition comes in the form of several new varieties of fauna that the housed animals would naturally encounter being planted in the area, creating a more diverse and naturalistic environment for said animals, and giving the area a more lush, appealing look. With new space for a few more gators now being available, a focus will be put on housing disabled gators that could only be held in captivity, serving a good cause while also providing a more unique and memorable sight for guests.

Taking the place of the abandoned Sky Coaster and Voodoo flat ride footprint and bordering Odin's Temple of the Tiger theater and the Sidewinder Safari family coaster that acts as a transition into the rest of the park's wildlife offerings, the Flamingo Lagoon will be an expanded take on a long forgotten animal exhibit that used to exist between the Voodoo flat ride and the White Water Safari river rapids ride.

Much like Aligator Isle, Flamingo Lagoon will be greatly expanded from the small slab of land the flamingos originally occupied. Guests will walk another boardwalk path filled with the delightful pink birds. Landscaping will be very plentiful in this area, giving both the birds and the guests a true sense of immersion as they find themselves in a very authentic recreation of the Florida Everglades. Safari West will once again provide the birds as the area fulfills the overall Wings of Wonder conservation mission statement.

Each individual stop in the Wings of Wonder area would be a great new addition to the park in its own right, but combining all these different elements together into a footprint that roughly takes up about a quarter of the overall park, we at Team Fantasy truly aim to have this series of attractions breath new life into the park's animal offerings and truly put it on the map again as a premier destination for animal encounters. It's a true return to form to the days of pre-Six Flags "Marine World Africa USA" that aims to educate guests for generations to come as well as provide world class care to these incredible creatures.

Amazing work everyone! As I said, I’m on a road trip but will be getting home tonight so expect reviews tomorrow. That said, we’ve got two more speed rounds and then we’re into the final act of the game! So let’s do it.

Challenge Nine: The Show Must Go On
IMG_9998.jpeg

Animatronic shows are one of the more unique offerings at the Disney parks that you don’t necessarily see at other places due to high maintenance costs and whatnot. That said, it feels like there haven’t been any added in a long time and some of the parks don’t even have a single one.

Magic Kingdom has the bounty of Tiki Room, Country Bears, Hall of Presidents, and Carousel of Progress. Epcot has the American Adventure, and Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are both lacking in this department. I think it’s time to change that.

Prompt: Design a new animatronic show for one of the parks at Walt Disney World.

I specify Disney World because I’ve let you guys run free quite a bit this game and I wanna see what you can do when a little more confined.

This project is due Sunday, September 7th at 11:59 PM PST (2:59 AM EST, 1:59 AM CST, 3:59 PM PT)

This isn't fun anymore.
Tiki you’re doing a great job!!

Other users reported seeing all the images so it could very easily be an issue with Safari on my end. Don’t fret!

And I totally wasn’t trying to like, make fun of anyone or anything. It was very playful in nature and intent.

You are an important person in these games and on this forum and it wouldn’t be the same without you!

I can’t see most of the pictures either. Usually this happens when they’re copied directly from a PM. It’s really dumb and annoying and happens at least once every competition. It’s totally not a big deal though - they’re just pictures.

Also, hi. I’m ok. Just absurdly busy and my life is as weird as it’s was a few months ago. I’ve been lurking on and off and everyone’s doing great!
