Maybe they can make future world actually look like the future rather than 1990.

Disney has tons of corporate partnerships with firms who I'm sure would be willing to help create something futuristic that represents what some of these companies plan to do going forward. The thing is would Disney do it seeing as usually they want those firms to pay too much money to be involved.
Excellent idea - hopefully Disney makes a bunch of announcements at D23 regarding EPCOT, DHS and DAK. EPCOT has so much potential.

@JamboEveryone on Twitter suggested that this could be where they relocate the Carousel of Progress. He wasn't suggesting it as a rumor, just speculation.
It's hard to think they would leave that entire area abandoned in the middle of the park, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out. I think Epcot is becoming more and more disjointed. With a re-branding of DHS in the works, it really seems to me that Epcot will be the problem child park before the decade is out.

I just started a thread over in the Imagineering forum about how to Fix Epcot: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/fixing-epcot.897448/

Didn't Disney just finish giving these buildings a new paint job?!?
There is a colorful looking wall up in front of what was "Test the Limits", so there is some type of continuous theme that is possibly going to happen there - nobody seems to know what's going there though.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I think they should actually redo universe of energy and make it into a "Green Pavillion" of energy, which a ride featuring Walle and all they new advances in energy and conservation of our planet. So what happened in the wallet movie won't really happen someday or something like that...

That's sort of the point of The Land pavilion though.

I totally disagree about the Wall-E stuff. To me the film, as much as I love it, really presents a dystopian future where we destroy earth and become fat and lazy with electronics doing everything for us. Although the corporate overlords probably like this idea, I think it is not what we want in Future World.

I would like to see a Google Labs type of place....Apple might be ok, but it would probably just be a glorified Apple store and I don't know if we'll see anything Apple related as long as HP is sponsoring Mission:Space (it's still the sponsor, right?)

How many empty pallivions, buildings and wasted areas does this park have? It has so much potential.

I'd rather MS then google or Apple. Hololens itself would turn heads more so than anything apple or google has right now.

Yes, and let's all hope that one day they'll re-consider that horrendous paint job. Personally, I think the way the painted the Starbucks/FountainView building looks wonderful! I wonder why they didn't paint the rest of the building like that..? *Sigh*

Just had a horrible thought... What if this just becomes an Apple Store/D Zone/mymagic+ Center? Everyone keeps throwing around the idea of an Apple store at Disney Springs, maybe someone at Disney had the bright idea of showcasing Apple tech/ selling stuff/ having a my magic+ Center alongside so everyone thinks 'this is the future'.

Let's hope not!

Thanks, dreamfinder. That makes more sense.
I always thought they were one in the same.
As for the Apple Store, I think it would be a great idea for a gift shop at the end of some sort of technology-based attraction or display.
A walk-through of Jobs' career, inventions & how he worked with Disney ending with a blu ray special feature'esque showcase of what Apple/Disney is currently working on (Pandora, Frozen Maelstrom..) would be a nice blend of modern tech and old-fashioned Disney sneak peeks.
Walt showed everyone on ABC all sorts of the technology he was working on far before the attraction was set to open.

Different photo op. I believe the OP was referring to the VISA M&G which is directly inside Innoventions, while Character Spot is technically in a separate building with Club Cool & Starbucks (at least I think the breezeway separates them into 2).

Yes, Club Cool, Fountain View, Character Spot and nice long open hallway are separated from Innoventions by a breezeway. Just like Mous Gear is separated by a breezeway from innoventions on the opposite side of futureworld.

Last fall or late summer there was an addition of some tables and chairs with a graphical wrap look to them. They were placed in an off the path room that was more like a waiting room, but still open to the innoventions area. Now looking back on my trip to EPCOT this past January,I thought it was weird that that area had all of the tables and chairs removed and there were just a few benches left along the walls. Looked really weird to have a large room with almost zero places for sitting.

These had better not become some lame in-Park 'shopping mall' experience.
Something tells me it is a possibility, and i have to confess that i would not at all be surprised if that path was taken in today's weak creative climate.
I do hope however that will not be the case, and something unique would be placed here instead.

One thing EPCOT does not need more of at this point is more retail.
'Attractions', 'Atmosphere', and 'Adventures' is what people used to come to EPCOT for and what set it apart from the other WDW area Theme Parks.
Today that mentality has changed, and it seems to be all about 'Dining' , 'Drinking', and 'De-toxing' now.
