Thanks, and good luck on the project! If you make it easy enough to create new lands :))), I'd love to help model some! I have some expirence with POVRay, and some other modeling software... so we'll see :)

I know absolutely nothing about computer models, programming, etc., except that I love your idea.

BUT... I would be willing to donate free legal help/expertise to this project if you should need it. Just let me know.

Good luck, and keep us informed!

Well it has been awhile since we have heard from digitaldisney. And I am wondering if this project is still in the works because I was really looking forward to it.And by the looks of it it looks like it still is on because of what was just recentley posted about the motor stunt show.As you can see in the pic of the car jumping over the fire it looks like the same virtual walt disney world park program digital disney was working on.Anyways keep up the good work digital disney.

Whew. Sorry about the lack of response guys.

I'm still in the design phase of this project. I want to design it right from the start so I don't have to revise or add things later.

This project is so large, that I really need to do a good job with a design spec.

- The world is HUGE. I need to find a way to design it such that everything is relative to one another. Everything must be relative to certain key points, and not one absolute point. This makes it easier to move objects, and it puts everything in perspective. However, I need to make sure that everything connects with one another. This is my biggest issue.
- I want the world to be modular. If you don't want to have the Wide World of Sports location, you don't need to download it. If you don't want Epcot, you don't need to download it.
- I want the world to be based on times (probably years). So, given the correct data, you could put yourself in 1986 and stand between World of Motion and Horizons, then jump start to 2003 and stand between Mission Space and Test Track.

To help jumpstart this process, I will model one small part of the world. I might pick something simple like Living With The Land or El Rio Del Tiempo, so I can work on some of the things I've discussed above. I'd much rather put myself though some pain and have something that works and is useful than to release something that won't be used and causes users a lot of grief.

Honestly, this may not take off to the level that I want. The complexity of modelling a world this large and dynamic is insane. However, I think that I can at the very least, make something that simulates individual, non-outdoor rides. So, attractions like POTC and Pooh and Spaceship Earth will be fair game, but TTA and Skyway may not happen.

We'll see though. I know it's cliched, but if you can dream it, you really can do it. And that's the most exciting part.
