so last year we flew with Thomas cook, and regardless of the price we hated the flight, the holiday was amazing however, so this year we decided to give virgin a go, got very good prices with them back in January when there sale was on, 17 nights staying at PORS 17th September all tickets included (uni, Disney, Bush Garderns, SeaWorld, etc) came out at £3890 for 2 adults, and the lady who booked it for us was very helpful, and we couldn't of been happier.
However, since we booked it and they have had our money, there customer service doesn't always seem to be the best, which i know they like to pride them selves on. Compared to Thomas cook at the moment its coming in behind it. We seemed very valued and appreciated at TC which we liked, but it just seemed like another sale to Virgin and to be honest without this site, i wouldn't of known about ADR's or even the Magical Express (which we obviously had to book on our own accord through Disney) So only time will tell how the holiday goes, with it just being only 11 days away, i'm hoping for it to be amazing, but still reserving judgment as to the mixed customer service we have received.

We have been with both TC and VA. Both have their good and bad points.TC never went out of their way for us but then neither have virgin ,except,On our Disneymoon we had to cancell the holiday at Gatwick on the day of the flight to Florida. The people at the desk were pretty unhelpfull (not rude just unhelpfull). The VA person an the phone bent over backwards to assist us with our problem. We were offered various diffferent destinations instead of Florida but when he realised it was where we wanted to go he offered us a total refund on the holiday and helped book flights back to our Island that day. When we gott back to our travel agents that afernoon(whene we were supposed to be over the atlantic) they phoned VA straight away and th person they got was V.helpfull also. The holiday was transferred from Sept to May the next year and we got an extra weeks stay for less than £200 added to our holiday.
There are always good and bad for each travel company and with the good service we have recieved VA will more than likely get our £'s.Not they are not the cheapest but they are the best for us.It is a combination of having everything booked through Virgin from when we leave our little airport in Guernsey (google if you don't know) to when we return,The extra suitcase allowance (2 cases for PE) and all the other little things that add up for us.

P.S. @baggienath7 looking forward to your trip report :D

Well all I can say is you've won a chocolate watch at these prices..17 nights at PORS..Tickets for WDW..Sea World..Bush..Uni/IOA..transfers from MCO..I take it free DDP as well..To be honest..If Virgin quoted me that I would check to see if that was a one way offer..My flights alone from Manchester to MCO in October next year with Virgin for three adults( virgin adults start at 12 yrs and over, everyone else is 17 years ) for just 14 nights was £6550 ..Thats flights only..No accommodation..For that price I would want Richard Branson giving me one of his luxury villas in one of his private Caribbean islands..For FREE.:D

I've been on a full package with Virgin Holidays 3 times (via a travel agent) then once booking as a frequent virgin on-line & by phone to get the 10% off - never had any real issues. The last time (5th) we went I had booked (for October) by phone direct with virgin, but had to change dates due to various issues. It was going to cost us £800 more per person for 1 day less (due to plane seat availability, so we cancelled it, and we lost £500 deposit! :banghead:

4 of us were due to travel end of Oct to PORS, and had paid for ticket for MNSSHP. We contacted a really lovely lady we know at a local independent travel agent, who in the space of an hour had booked us up with Walt Disney Travel Co, flights with Virgin, car hire, park tickets, ME and DDP all at PORS travelling 2 weeks earlier and we actually saved! Although we lost the deposit we paid alot less overall, and we got more vouchers etc. Anyone around the Bristol area would have extremely good service from this company and I have recommended them to lots of people. We had an excellent time, and guess what she has booked our trip for Oct 2014 - still have to do flights and car - but she is on the case to get us a good deal as soon as she can book them.

I would recommend VH (not flown with any others to the World, but have to other places) and the service seems to be much better. When we had an problem with a being picked up to collect a hire car (on my friends birthday - although we had it booked were left for 5 hours waiting) we complained to the VH rep, who managed to eventually get hold of someone, and when we were back from the trip we received a really apologetic letter and a cheque in way of recompense even though it had been Dollar that messed up!

We always fly VA, we book thru Virgin Holidays as we are in the Frequent Virgin Club and we opt for the 10% discount, now the little reds fly from Aberdeen, we have the option of free internal flights. Flying in to MCO, Downtown down checking, the Vroom, free drinks, good on board food. Leg room not such a problem as we fly PE. I don't find other TA any cheaper once you have added all the extra that you get on VA.
Our holiday starts from when we leave home not when we arrive so I look for vaule not the cheapest.
For the standard we like we still find Virgin Hols good value for money, We are now DVC members so we book a fly Drive. With Tesco club card point and flying club credit card we are nicely totting up flying club point.
It is all down to what you are looking for.

We flew with travel city the first time. would not want to fly with them again. they charged us for a private taxi then stuck us on the magic express and the man at the mears desk was very unpleasant.
This was when the ash cloud was causing delays , we did not see or hear from the rep at all. no idea when our flight was supposed to be.
The leg room with virgin is uncomfortable as well.

The last couple of times we flew with thomsons , better leg room, not enough drinks last time round ( half a cup of tea ) & the plane was dirty but they dropped us off , picked us up , called to tell us what time our flight was and when to be ready. we got a little pack with useful info like doctors numbers

Curious..Why do you consider their the best..??...All planes I have flew on have arm rests that move..and have back seat tv's...You say more leg room..31" is less than Thomson and Thomas Cook..All my meals have been included...As far as Travel City goes..We met a family from north of Scotland at PORS who used them..never again..They never picked them up at Sanford or at PORS.They had to get a lift on our coach :(
In my opinion they are the best, I've flown to the US from Manchester with
Thomas cook, British airways and American Airlines and I just find virgin are the best, my partner is 6'3 and he has said he thinks virgin are the best for comfort for him and I, we have upgraded to PA but last year we found flying in standard was better, but I suppose its personal preference...that's shocking about not being picked up, we have never flown to Sanford, we've always got car hire so I suppose we don't know if they do have problems with transport...every bit of advice helps I suppose :)

If your partner is 6" 3" he must be in the prem cabin..No way can someone that height sit for 9 hours in a seat with a 31" pitch..
