Virgin Megastores, including Disney location, will shut down this summer

I am always down for Dave and Busters too! Shoot, for the locals they could move the Ale House over there and it would draw TDO. :lookaroun

Someone else suggested making one of those large buildings a Broadway style theater. That would be very cool, and seems like a license to print money for them. All I'll say though is don't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever wish for The Little Mermaid to make a stop there as someone mentioned. That show is JUST AWFUL. Really? Skating around on HEELIES? JUST AWFUL!

Aww....but I loved the show. The performances were great, the music and songs worked, and I enjoyed it quite a bit (though my two fav D-Way shows are Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins and I didn't like The Lion King at alll so I don't know much). I love the idea though - something comprable to DL's Aladdin show. We could get an awesome new show - not necessarily the B-Way stuff, which would make it hard to ever remount the shows.

I just hope Disney uses this as an opportunity to do something exciting and new with DTD. I know the economy is bad, but it really needs to be something. Dead space is bad space and if they keep renting it out to places, it'll be completely unspecial and then when the economy is good again, they won't be able to do anything with it.

If Disney asks Apple, or Apple asks Disney to get into that space, it can be be an interesting place to be, Just Imagine how good and crowded are the stores are at Millenia or Florida Mall.

Now they can actually have a flagship store (the big one like NY's) and maybe just maybe bring the other part of the Apple store (yes there use to be a different store and is located at Cupertino).

Just imagine what that can bring to Disney as other Merchandise, just imagine a custom iPod with Mickey on the back, or a Tishirt with the iPod ads with Donald.

Just imagine if you had the time on your vacation go there and learn how to edit the perfect video with your own fotage or how to do a book (that could be printed there) with your own pictures from your actual trip.

I know is double the size of the regular Apple stores. but sky is the limit.

As for ESPN Zone it can go to Mannequins / 8 Tracks area.

But then I am just in a Blue Sky mode right now.

They would have to do it at the Old Virgin megastore! PERFECT!

Disney must have a plan for this, they had to have known this was coming eventually. I mean, no one is that short-sighted, right?
