Vinylmations being phased out?

I said the same thing this weekend when we were at construction central. We walked into the D-street store and half of it is Marvel and there was only a few pieces of display of the vinylmations on display.

That would be too bad because my daughter loves Vinylmations and really anything that comes in a blind box or bag. It is the new "in" thing with the YouTube toy lovers. When we went to Disney in Feb. she was determined to get all of the ones called "cuties" they were snow themed and she almost got them all. It would be a shame if these were no longer being sold by the time we go on our next trip in April.

I never liked the idea of having to blind purchase them, I know if there was one my sister wanted she'd just look on ebay for it, you may pay an extra dollar or two, but least you'd be guaranteed to get the one you wanted

I've only ever wanted the ones related to Cranium Command. I was actually shocked they made them, and recognized the attraction! They usually seem to try and avoid anything about the pavilion altogether, unlike the rest of the pavilion/rides in Epcot..

If Disney want to extract more money from gift shops then they need to go back to individual products in this stores and resorts no more of the same pins, creepy vinyl things, shirts, stuffed animals. Give me original and my $$$ would be spent in gift shops again.

Oh nooo that's too smart for them...Because after a journey through the 5th diemension I'm really going to need something with Jack Skellington.....Yeaaahh..

I bought three...2 - 9" ones..The EPCOT with the countries flags and the one with the Horizon emblem. And the small TOT one. DW had to have the Jiminy one. The designs of most of them were outrageous... no wonder they sold them in surprise boxes. I heard more than one guest walk out of the store and be very disappointed when they opened the box. Then it was a pain to seek out one to make a trade for a better one.

Never understood vinylmation or even where it came from. Much like Duffy, I think it was some lame attempt from some Disney exects to extract money from Innocent Disney fans.

What exactly is/was Duffy? I remember at one point Duffy was promoted heavily mainly at Epcot

Duffy was/is a teddy bear that Minnie made for Mickey when he was traveling. You can buy the Duffy bears at Epcot along with all types of outfits. He also has a meet-n-greet at Epcot. I have two girls who absolutely adore him, but he is not generally well received by the Disney fan community.

Bob Iger was really sad because his quarterly earnings statement wasn't up to par. So he created a story about Mickey & a duffle bag full of money. Thus Duffy was born & Mickey pimped him out throughout the resort even giving him a TV station at night for the kids

The push for Duffy at WDW, to me, felt like an experiment. "Let's see if people will buy this, even though they have no attachment to the character, he has not been in anything, and he doesn't even really have any character traits."

They have to make room for the customized magic bands? o_O I only say that to suggest that as one unnecessary trinket is phased out, the next unnecessary "must have" trinket usually comes along, doesn't it?
