View from the balcony...

At SSR this past Sept. we had an amazing view of DTD from the balcony and I spent several evenings and mornings hanging out there just enjoying the view.
I know many here just use the room to sleep and bathe between parks, but if you value resort time and relaxation, how important is view to you?

Our view:

We usually try to spend time enjoying our resort too, so it's great to have nice view. MK view at Contemporary and Savanna View at AKL have been the best so far. We had a decent view of MK fireworks over the trees at WL as well. One of these days I'll post a few pics...
We are headed to BLT for our next trip and have a standard view, not sure what that will be, but just being at BLT, I'll take it no matter what the view. Please do post your pics.

Oh, I remember staying @ SSR back in 2004 in Congress Park (the only section open in 04') in Bldg #2 top floor with a direct view of PI. We would watch the fireworks almost every night from our balcony. It was fantastic! I love how they had the fireworks viewing gazebo and no fireworks now for many years and the fireworks viewing are is not marked on the SSR resort map anymore. I think the fireworks over PI ended in 05'.

I love SSR for it's closeness to DTD which make it easy to transfer to other resort hotel for dining resevations or for a quick shopping spree. So for me I stay in Congress Park or I do not stay there. Since I grew up only a few miles from the city of Saratoga Springs and now live only an hour away and visit there quite often, I just do not find the themeing all that attracting to me. It is strickly a location stay for me and my DVC home resort.

I have note stayed @ SSR since 2010 and it does look like the trees are growing quite a bit. The first few years they were little saplings and you had a clear unobstructed view of DTD.

Yes, the trees are getting much bigger, but I still like them. You could tell there were some rooms that had views completely obstructed by trees. Not sure how I would feel about that, but if they started cutting down trees, I would probably be one of the first ones to complain.
The location is very good, but I do hear some people don't like the size of the SSR resort. We did not mind and actually tried out all four pools and visited all the sections...while we really liked Congress Park, I suppose I would be happy with anywhere there.

With a 4 year old we actually spend a lot more time in the resorts than we used to. Downtime, naptime....and we don't find ourselves hanging out at the parks until the wee hours of the morning. That being said while I love the view I know you can take a walk down a hallway and sit outside at some of the places, we did it a lot at our stay in Boardwalk last year...and that can be just as nice as the view from my balcony/window.

We had a courtyard view at WL back in November 2011. I don't have a picture to post on this computer but I will try and get one posted soon. Amazing view!!

We have a standard view studio booked for Bay Lake Tower in September and I hear most of the studios are on the bottom floors but some of them face Space Mountain and you can see the fireworks. a view like that would be awesome!!

These are from our lake view room @ BLT on the 8th floor. We were very lucky to have this room that was classified as Lake View. We actually had the same room location but differant floors twice. To me it was the perfect location.
