The soundtrack is just about 4.5 seconds ahead of the pyro. Not the reports from the pyro but the actual breaks. The sound was perfect for the NYE show.
For instance, at the very beginning of the show, the EWP turns on and that is when the in-park fan is supposed to go as well.

I am thinking the audio feed to the EWP barges was slightly delayed. The NYE show I manually synced the audio from a recording from the MK hub.

Thats what it is. If you look really closely, the music starts and a few seconds later the lights on the castle go out. Looks like the music on the barges started a little early. Its probably hard to sync those things up, and as you said, there is some speed of light and sound issues too. I talked with a friend who was at the poly last night and they said the final barage of fireworks seemed to have occurred after the music had ended as well.

Great video though. Thank you Steve for posting it! :D

Very cool of Disney to use the barges for audio though - a real clever way to get around the limited audio power at the Poly beach. The lighting made a real nice foreground as well.

From what I understand, the EWP barge audio was local, not remote.

The play button was pressed too early.

Great video as usual, Steve. Here`s to the Epcot one ;)

Sounds about right. Do they always have audio from the barges, or is this a new thing? If its new, I imagine they'll probably get it right, possibly as early as tonight. :)

Here's a link to my recording of the show from last night standing on Main Street just outside the ice cream shop. As I type this, the lo-res versions are ready and the medium and high-res versions are still uploading. They'll likely be ready in the next hour or so (up load is kind of slow this morning).

July 3rd Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

Update: All 4 resolution levels uploaded now.
Sorry for the double post here, but Don I just got a chance to watch your video. Fantastic job, and very, very detailed!! What kind of camera did you use to record it, and do you use Mac products?

I will say though, sad you had to stand around that guy who decided to answer his cell phone. :hammer: Very Stereotypical type guy though...he didn't know where he was and the group he was with first thought they were in Disneyland.

Thanks. That phone call was about the third one he'd had with apparently the same person since we were standing there waiting for the fireworks, and each one was essentially that same conversation.

The camera is a Canon HF10, HD camcorder. I do use Mac products and this one was just pushed through iMovie quickly so I could get it uploaded. I've been recording a whole bunch of stuff lately including parades and the like and just haven't had the time to do a real edit job and get them all posted; hopefully soon.

Cool...thanks for letting me know what you use. I'm in the market for a camcorder and have been weighing the options.

Any chance you're recording Epcot's show? I know...its 4 minutes till and I'm asking!

Wow, that was amazing! It was also very tasteful as well, it wasn't under or overwhelming. Great job Disney, you continue to succeed! :) Happy 4th of July everyone! :sohappy:

Thanks for posting! The fireworks looked wonderful this year. :sohappy:

You weren't standing on anything while you were filming, were you? I'm amazed you didn't get someone's head blocking your fabulous shot.

I was actually standing right behind a line of two ECV's one behind the other so there was nobody directly standing in front of me. The flashing light ring on the hat at the beginning on the lower right is the guy standing up to take a photo and then he sat down for the show.

Its the first time i have seen it in use. Even though the timing was slightly off, its great for the resort area to have big audio for the show - great job Disney!
