That's not quite true. There are resort rooms on both sides and vacation club rooms on both sides. The hotel rooms are in the wings that run at a 45 degree angle off the lobby and in the wings that run parallel to the lobby. The vacation club properties are in the wings that run perpendicular to the lobby but there are rooms and DVC in both wings.

Interesting, that's not how it was explained to me while I was there. Nevertheless, its a great place to stay. Went for our honeymoon and treated it like a regular resort.
