Very Best Back Pack ???

I am in search of the perfect Disney trip back pack. I don't carry a purse in the park and don't want to fool with a camera bag. I have always used an ultra light, small back pack that weighed less then a pound, had interior pockets and outside mesh bottle holders for water or soft drink. My poor old pack finally bit the dust and they don't make it anymore. Has anyone one found the perfect pack?

I prefer it to a backpack because it goes over one shoulder, rests on my hip and I can access stuff like money or passes quickly from the front zipped pocket. It was also easier to quickly grab and then stash my camera as I was walking. Every time I take a backpack, if I wanted to get stuff out of it I needed to find somewhere to set it down or put it on the ground. I like to avoid that if possible and the messenger bag helps. However, some people can't stand having all the weight distributed on one side. I usually put the strap across my body and switch shoulders occasionally so that the weight is equally distributed.

Oh and I have the turquoise one! I put lots of WDW related patches on it. Figment, Nemo, etc. I even bought Nemo printed fabric and sewed a little pocket on the inside with a drawstring for my camera to keep it from getting bumped around too much.

I was very happy with the one I bought in March in disney. I like a smaller and less burdensome one as well. It is navy blue and it has a small embroidered castle on it and it says "Walt Disney World, where dreams come true". It has three compartments all together. The only thing it does not have is a mesh part for bottles. However, I used the smallest compartment for my water and just wrapped napkins around it for the condensation. It also has normal straps. I do not know about you, but those draw string straps digging into my shoulders all day gets annoying. It was a little pricey(it is disney) but I think it was worth it. :)

A couple years ago, I bought a full sized, clear vinyl backpack (std design). I argued with my husband at first (it was his idea), thinking it would make my back very hot, but it doesn't. I can find everything very easily (cameras, water bottle, wallet, etc), and Disney Security LOVES it...it takes them like 2 seconds to look at the whole thing, and I never have to unzip the zippers. I got mine at a Safeway/Dominicks grocery store, but have seen them at some of the 'Big Box Stores' (Meijer, Target, etc).

I carry an Under Armour "SackPack" when I'm at WDW. It's lightweight and actually very comfortable to wear, which is not the case with most string bags and is really durable. I just toss it in the washing machine if it gets dirty. It only has one pocket on the outsize which zips closed, but no water bottle pockets. It's very simple and can fit a lot of stuff. I usually carry my camera, a pullover jacket, camcorder, iPod, etc., and whatever other junk I feel the need to bring with me. I believe it is supposed to be waterproof and has a thick mesh lining on the back so that your back doesn't get hot. This part of the bag is not waterproof, however, as I learned while riding Pirates one evening. The best part is that it is only $20!

I have a Jansport backpack. I've taken it to Disney the last 5 years and it still looks like new. It's got plenty of compartments for me to store stuff, but no exterior pocket for water. I've used and abused it and the zippers still work and nothing has broken. It has padded straps, so I've never had discomfort in carrying it (except for the times when I've put too much in it and it was heavy! :p ) I got it at Target for about $20. The pockets open thoroughly, so I've had no problems going through security. I put everything in ziploc bags, so it's really easy. The only downside is that it's also padded on the whole back side of the bag, which is nice for comfort - you don't get poked in the back by anything in the bag - but it gets a little warm. My back has been a little sweaty after an hour or so on my back. I've solved this problem, however, by having my 9 year-old son carry the backpack for a while. :animwink: (I've paid for his vacation, he can help out by carrying the bag for a bit, right? :p)

I recently bought a North Face Pandora backpack and really like it. I used it on my Europe trip over spring break and on a weekend trip to Denver. As far as small back packs go, this one is great. It's small but enough for a camera, snacks, a water bottle(it doesn't have the side pockets for one but one can easily fit inside),small souvenirs etc.I bought it online at eBags and got a great price on it. I recommend it and I can't wait to use it on my next Disney trip.

I just use the backpack I've used ever since high school...It's been through everything..and it's perfect since I go solo out there and I just put my mug and PSP in there it's all goood.
