Vero Beach beaches

You can go north and south on the road that DVB is located on and find beaches to use if you have a vehicle, but that really stinks for you. I once went down to beach that was a little south of DVB just to walk with hubby and the further we walked, we found big nice shells. It seemed like the beaches were deserted though. I don't remember how far Captain Hirams (not sure of the spelling) is from your location, but if you have a vehicle and looking for a good local place to eat, check it out.

The letter states that Indian River County is doing 'beach nourishment'. I just hope that they don't start work at the crack of dawn every morning. BTW, does anyone know of a dog friendly beach? I've heard that there is one in Ft Pierce, but are there any closer?

We got the letter 3 days before our vacation (gee, thanks). I'm not really a beach person but I know some of the folks I'm going with might be disappointed. We leave tomorrow.
On the plus side the letter said the beach will be open on Sundays, there will be free bike rentals, miniature golf and other stuff. There will also be shuttles to beaches that are open, but again, I'm not really a beach person (unless I'm in the Bahamas or Caribbean). 5 mins of sand is enough for me. What I like about Vero when the beach is open is that my beachy friends can hang out on the beach while I'm in the pool and we're only a minutes walk from each other. Not this time, I suppose.
Maybe I'll spend more time in the Green Cabin Room. Kungaloosh!
