Vastly Expanded Fantasyland??

I'm sorry but why does this thread exist? It's an entire thread based on the heir-splitting, symantic nit-picking of a "Debbie Downer". The admins should close this thread and focus more energy on discussing the plusses and minuses of what is coming rather than what it should be called. The important part is that it's a change/improvement...and despite whether you like the M&G's or not, thats a good thing.

Hey I am all about the positive side of this "expansion."

Of course since many of the new attractions will have queues that are partially outside, the skin cancer rate will probably increase.

That is precisely my biggest problem with this whole expansion, Mickey is being sacrificed so that cindy can have a house right next to her castle,or so I can color with aurora.. Its not right that toontown is being removed, there is no need for that, the princesses only appeal to young girls, while the fab 5 appeals to all ages and genders.. Just seems stupid for disney to remove toontown, this is the MAGIC KINGDOM the #1 most visited park on the planet, Mickey and friends NEED a REAL home here!

You do realize that Mickey didn't have house until the late 80's right? Also Fantasyland is the only area on property that appeals to girls, talk about selfish boys.

Agreed. I like the expansion minus getting rid of the Toontown Fair. I really don't know why they feel this needs to be changed/improved upon.

WRT OP: There are several reasons this is rightly called an expansion:

1) An expansion in hourly rider capacity is an expansion.

2) 20K closed in 1994, so even if its capacity were close to LM's, it's an unfair comparison. It wasn't closed to begin a 17-year construction project, in other words. The right comparison is FL without LM vs. FL with LM.

3) FL will get bigger by grabbing some of Toontown.
