Well, considering Jacky Cheung has had twenty five years to sell that many records, and Vanessa Carlton has only had five, I'm not quite as impressed with 'ole Jacky.

rofl! :sohappy:

Seriously, she was A list for like a year

Now she is preforming at Epcot.... rofl

It's really a shame that she couldn't be mindful of the audience she was performing for. I'm an elementary school teacher, and though I swear like a sailor on the weekends, I would never in a million year allow myself to slip up in front of my children. It shows an extreme lack of care on her part.

I love Vanessa's music, but can't say much for her person after reading about this.

Not a problem. My point is that if you really try (like at a job interview) you should be able to control slip ups. I’d like to think most people could make it through an important meeting without slipping up twice.

You're right, she should of been able to control it...I agree with you there. The part about the job interview seemed to be aimed at the other poster, not Vanessa.

1) Count me suprised. I heard an interview with her a while back and she seemed (at least at that time) like a well spoken, articulate, politle young woman.

2) Who cares what Disney (or for that matter any other venue says) The venue makes rules and the performer makes rules (in thier rider) As a professional, if you agree to those rules, then you abide by them. If Disney has a "no cursing" rule (I assume a list is provided, and F___ is pretty much near or at the top of most lists) then you abide by the rule or you don't agree to play there.

3) I can understand a single slip. Cursing is commonplace - it's also lazy and uninventive, but that is beside the point. I should hope a person can controll themselves. If she was invited to play for the President (whomever he or she may be) would she respond "F-ing A man, I'll play that S___" or perhaps she would choose better words. People need to learn to turn on the filter between mouth and brain - not just with cursing, but with saying anything in general without thinking.

Well THIS president would probably call her a "jackass" lol

This would have never happened if they would have booked Michelle Branch instead....

You're kidding, right? (My saracasm detector sucks so I really don't know lol)

I've heard (and read) Michelle Branch drop plenty of f-bombs and sexual euphimisms in her interviews...Just saying is all.

If Disney were so worried about language then they should take a good look at the rowdy and crude behavior that Food and Wine seems to bring out in some people. I was working over in the world showcase and had numerous complaints from guests saying how bad the language has gotten and how obnoxious people have become especially into the evening.

To say she has low class because she cursed on stage is a bit extreme for me. Everyone curses, beleive it or not. I don't see why 2 slips makes her lack common sense and have little class. Maybe you're just too sensitive?

I agree with you, just because she uses foul language doesn't mean she has no class. I curse, but normally in places that would frown upon it i refrain. If my wife manages to drag me to church I don't swear openly in front of an audience. plus, she was asked to watch her language, she showed her lack of class by not respecting disneys wishes.
