Value Resort v. Moderate

I'm trying to decide if it's worth the extra money for a moderate resort like Port Orleans vs. one of the Value ones. My kids are 2, 4 and 6. Would they enjoy the value one more? I read the room sizes are the same whcih is my main concern. Any thoughts? Are the value resorts nice and clean?

I have stayed at both moderates and the values. For kids you can't beat the values! My daughter who is now 19 still prefers the values for the "total " Disney experience! The moderates are nice but just don't have as much Disney Character theming IMO. I would suggest either All Star Movies or Art of Animation. Both have huge character statues everywhere as well as smaller life sized characters. AOA is all suites except for the Little Mermaid area so if you are looking for a normal sized room that would also be great. We stayed at POP in December and that is now my favorite value, however my daughter missed the theming of ASMo, so we just walked across the bridge to AOA to get her theming fix. As far as the moderates, for kids I would choose PO since they seem to me to have the most Disney characters in their theming. Good Luck and welcome to the boards!

Welcome to the boards - this is a great place to get all needed info to help make your WDW trip as magical as possible.

We've stayed in both moderates and values and like both. We (wife and I) love POFQ and would stay there every time but we allow our 11 year old son a vote and he loves the themes of the values; All Sports with Pop Century being a close second.

We're not in our room much because we love the parks but during our yearly one week trips to WDW we do like to spend time at the resorts hanging a bit and swimming.

You can't go wrong with either choice - we hope you enjoy the boards and wishing you a very magical vacation at the best place on earth.

My DD4 was a month shy of her 4th b-day on our trip this past September. We had a split stay at AOA/POP & she absolutely fell in love with both resorts! Especially, AOA LMR! Theming there is soooooo great! By the way: welcome!!!

Actually they're not trundles anymore - they're small Murphy beds I believe.

I forgot they changed to pull down beds with the remodel.
