Value Resort Rates

I have a question about a special rate for the value resorts. I heard from one thread here a few days ago that the AP rate for value resorts is $49 a night. I got a flier in the mail from Disney advertising a $49 a night value resort special. The odd thing is, this flier had my correct address on it, but the name it was addressed to was a completley different name, and nobody by that name has ever owned my house in the past. So I'd just like to verify that this rate is a special for anybody, not just AP holders. I am not an AP holder, but the famliy they were tying to send the flier to may very well be annual passholders.

Anybody confused yet :)?

It's not an AP rate. I also received the postcard with PIN at my address, but with someone else's name on it. In this case, the person it was address to is my friend, who I am going to WDW with this Oct. We already have a reservation, which I made, but they asked me for the names of all in the room.
Anyway, I called yesterday and reasoned that since my friend's name is listed with my reservation, WE should be eligible for the $49 rate at Pop Century. The CM agreed and modified our existing reservation. :sohappy:
Give it a try, they might just do the same for you.

That's great. Thanks for the info. It's really a great deal. Not to long ago they had the $55 a night, and I thought that was cheap. Now only if I could get a really good deal on a moderate resort :).

This will be my first post here, and just wanted to say hello to you. We will be going to WDW in October with the $49 rate too. We will be staying at Pop Century. First time onsite.

Is there a date restriction on this code?

Can the pin codes be transferred person to person?

Anyone get a post card and willing to share? :D

We're starting to put together preliminary plans for a trip next summer. We hope to pay it off well before we leave so that it doesn't put as much of a hole in our wallet all at once.

I never received anything in the mail and just called and used the code. Anyone who has an AP can use it, you'll just have to present your AP at check in.

Also, for an extra $10/night they will give you a "preferred" building, which is 1 of the 2 buildings closer to the food court and transportation (should be the 50's & 90's buildings, I think).

The three letter discount codes can be used by anyone that is eligible, such as AP holders "EWK" or the $55 rate "AZZ" for the general public that was released not too long ago. The postcard pin #'s are specific to each individual and cannot be shared. If you call with a pin # they will already have your name in the computer as the recipient.
