Just wanted to give a quick update of our V-Day trip, I'm going to try to keep it short and simple.
Took a quick overnight trip to go to Animal Kingdom for the day on Valentine's Day. Crowd predictor said it was going to be a 7 day, and by first entering the park, I thought it was going to be wayyyy worse that that.
It was packed when we walked in at about 11am, we had to stop at Guest Relations to redeem our AAA passes, and it was probably the longest wait of the day.
Wait Time Summary:
Dinosaur (11:45am) - 20 minutes
Primeval Whirl - Noonish - 30 minutes
Tough to Be a Bug - 1ish - 20 minutes
Safari - 3ish - We fastpassed but wait times were anywhere from 30 to 75 minutes
Everest - We fastpassed again, longest wait time was about 40 minutes, not too bad
I also ate at Yak and Yeti for the first time, FYI you DONT need an ADR. We had one, but the restaurant was empy when we ate lunch at around 4pm. The food was just ok, really overpriced for what you get though, its chinese food.
We left Animal Kingdom at around 5:30...I wanted to stay and watch The Lion King but our group was ready to head out...kind of a short day.
HOWEVER, for al ittle bit of romance, we went over to Poly to lay in a hammock on the beach and watch the sunset while the Castle lit up. Sooo romantic and very relaxing.
After Poly we went to the Contemporary to see the fireworks from California Grill's platform, love it up there and guess who we watched fireworks next to? Tom Hamilton from Aerosmith! Too cool! We didnt bother him, but it was pretty neat anyway.
All and all a great Valentine's day!
PS - I heard Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were on Kilamanjaro Safari's around 2pm, we didnt see them though. Bummer! Two celebrity sightings in one day would have been a little crazy.
