Using the romantic settings of Disney World to your advantage

I, like a many number of guys out there, probably aren't naturally the most romantic of individuals I'm afraid. If I'm being 100% honest, the idea of romance to me is covering my mouth when I burp, or offering to put the bins out on a Tuesday night. However I've always found that a place like Walt Disney World offers great opportunities to a person like myself to appear to be more romantic that perhaps I really am and not just because I always disguise my burps when I'm there.

The long suffering Mrs M has probably come to terms with my many shortcomings over the years, but I have pulled out of the bag a few romantic gestures whilst visiting Disney. The one that's got me more brownie points than any other was from way back when Mrs M was in fact a single Mrs B and we'd just started dating. I'd had a solo trip to Disney booked for a while and went on this trip a few weeks after we'd started seeing each other. Whilst I loved my two week stay on my own in Orlando, there were many times when there that I wondered what she was doing right then and even imagined how great it would be if she came with me in the future and loved the place like I do.

One Saturday morning in particular I was sat on some stones near Spaceship Earth waiting for the rope drop and thought about her and how great it would one day be hopefully having her sat there next to me. I remembered the spot and thought to myself "next year my aim is to have her here with me, if of course she doesn't end up being a total nightmare of a woman". The following year we indeed were still together and on the first day we visited Epcot I decided to show her 'our spot' and told her what I was hoping for and thinking about the previous year when I sat there alone (I did leave out the bit where I'd hoped she didn't turn out to be a total nightmare of a woman though!).

It was then that I discovered that ladies actually enjoy hearing this type of thing, it was like a magic key that I'd discovered that opened up a perception of a new me with very little effort other than a couple of sentences . I was promised an 'early night' that evening and unlike when being being a child and an 'early night' was a punishment, I discovered as an adult it offered many positive rewards :).

We've been married 12 years this November and every visit to Epcot I remember to point out our spot as we walk in. She still finds it lovely to hear and I always get a kiss from her and a pat on the bottom as I mention it and you know what, I'm still glad she was the one I chose all those years ago and realise how lucky I am to be there with her!

So come on, spill the beans and let's hear some tales of romance from Walt Disney World from you lot then.
