Upgrading at Port

I was just playing around on the DCL website and looked up our current cruise rates. Right now, the difference between our room (5A) and the concierge level is $400, I just always assumed it would be a whole lot bigger of a differance. If we go to the upgrade desk at arrival to pay for an upgrade will it be even cheaper than that? If so I am soooooo excited!

It could be, assuming it is still available. Many know to go to the supervisor/upgrade desk asking for upgrades.

It's possible it'd be cheaper but not guaranteed to be. I've heard of port upgrades coming in at not-so-big bargains over rack rate differences. $400 is very reasonable. I don't think we've done a port upgrade to concierge for anywhere near that small a number. And, like @DisneyJoe said, that's provided the rooms are still available when you check in at the port. Not only do they need to be available on the day of sailing, you need to beat everyone else doing port upgrades to get them. It's a gamble, for sure! Sometimes I truly think ignorance is bliss! I worry myself sick over this type of stuff. LOL!

If you really want the upgrade, and can swing the $400, I'd do it now.

We will be happy either way, so we will wait. We have a 10:30 port arrival time so it will be fun to check
I like being a little competitive even on vacation lol.
