Anyone know if the new Dumbo will be outfitted to match the current one, and if we will get the DLish water feature like the art suggests?

Look like it is right on top of The Great Goofini. I would hope they plant some trees there to seperate them.

A lot of the photos posted of the FLE are done with some sort of zoom lens by necessity. However it has the effect of distorting the scale of the project and is the primary reason so many people do not understand just how massive the FLE is.

And the average guest who does not follow this stuff are going to be especially amazed by it I think.

Yep it's HUGE. Just a massive chunk of land is between the Tea Cups and Beast. Also does anyone else think that the Dumbo structure is gigantic!?.

Possibly the haven't even decided on the colors yet.

So if the MSUSA train station is the midwest at the turn of the century....

and the Frontierland train station is the old west pre or post 1900.....

then what could the new train station in the FLE possibly be themed to? :veryconfu

The suspense is killing me! :dazzle::lol:

I remember reading a while back that the station is also going to be "Circus" themed. I don't know if this has been verified but it seems feasible.

Looking at the concept art and most recent aerial photos it appears that the main part of the station building is going to be themed as a classic railroad "round house". You can see a model train version of one here, http://scottymason.com/Store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=23&products_id=41, that looks a lot like what they are building.

The rest of the station looks like a pretty standard classic train station.

Hmm...will it be a direct copy of the current Dumbo?

I'm just thinking that maybe they'll retheme the current one to fit in more with the circus theme.

Maybe have some of them with the clown paint on his face...or the movie-accurate colors.

My curiosity is more about what time frame and location the train station will feature. Is the circus visiting a fictional town? Is it set in a certain decade? Will the station reflect a regional architecture/aesthetic to enhance a specific backstory? Both the MSUSA and Frontireland stations do this so I can't imagine this station won't also.

At least that is what I hope and expect. We should know by early 2012. :)

I would imagine that the themed-time would be around the 1940s-1950s. The classic era of circus' with the ring leader, the handlebar mustached weightlifters, etc.

Also, this would fit in with the Dumbo time. Didn't that movie come out in the early 40s?

You can see a picture of what the new Dumbos will look like here. They are going to be basically the same design but with some different colors and details.

There was a discussion of the train station in this tthread where Lee and Juan indicated that it would not really be period specific, so if they ever wanted to re-theme the area the station could remain un-changed. The appears on the station in the artwork appears to support this. It looks like something that could exist in my different periods or places.

You may be right. Not what I would but you may very well be right.

JT... If the building that they are working on there is going right behind the dumbo... then I think the rollercoaster track is pretty close. I know the area very well. And yes, I do know how big the overall expansion is.
What I do not know is if the building that they are working on(on the roof) are where the Dumbo queue is going to be(or maybe it is the Goofini queue)... right next to the Goofini track. To me though it looks like the proximity of the coaster track to the Dumbo attraction looks very close. It looks like that in the drawing also. Anyone else see this too?

I wasn't arguing with you, I was just making a general observation. The rumor was that they were going to have to move the track to fit in Dumbo but it appears they decided to alter the raceway track instead. Point is there was little room and Dumbo had to be squezzed into the current location. And your observation is exactly right.

Well, the original Dumbo film is set in Florida.

Interesting. So it is theoretically possible that they may be giving the train station a generic overlay with the idea of a more specific theming overlay in the future. Likely as part of a "phase 2" expansion of the land. I like that possibility a lot. There are some compelling possibilities with this scenario. :)

Yep. that is one possibility. But it is also possible to theme it to many locals because, in theory, the circus is a 'traveling circus'. Given the proximity of the train station I think that is almost certainly part of the backstory. This is good!

If it involves removing the speedway, then I'm with you.

IMO they have 3 options. They could easily use a segment of the speedway for a phase 2. They could also build outside the track (east) using a tunnel or ramps over the track or north of the Circus by rerouting the access road. Rerouting the road would be fairly easy and would also create expansion space behind the rest of the FLE.

I really don't see them going much further north due to the proximity of the firework launch site. Also don't see them moving that since it is placed in relation to the castle.
