I don't know how many of you remember, but I was planning on going to Florida this summer to work.
Well, it's not going to happen. I got my rejection letter today. I'm a little disappointed, but it's not that big of deal.
I'm looking at this as a positive.
One of my grandfathers has been extremely lucky when it comes to close calls. He's had 2 massive heart attacks, smokes like crazy leading to real small lungs. He's been in the hospital several times this year because he can't breathe. He's basically using oxygen all the time now.
My dad owns a farm. We are in major debt and have barely made it for the past couple of years. Another year or two and it's probally going to be bankrupcy for the farm if something doesn't change.
Not to mention I'm really upset with the way my school is doing and how poor of a business program it really has. I wanted to transfer back after my semester in Florida, but I decided to return to school here.
I wasn't real sure if I was going to go down to Florida to work even if I was accepted. I'm taking this as a sign from God that I'm not supposed to be in Florida this summer working.
I'm going to take this summer to try and find another school with a good business program that is affordable. I will probally take a couple of summer classes and help out some on the farm or find a job somewhere locally (not much to choose from other than farming).
I know I said I would be there for the meet and greet in August. I'm going to try and take a trip down to Orlando then. I'll still be a campus representative and get my discounts so it's still a possibility.
